PS - Pompey are away to Rochdale on the 29th, so traffic issues reduced.

Yep - will be there post Belize. The army is being finished off currently. So in complete alignment with looks and Army List.
It transpires that the army of my choice fight against others I have (so probably gives the game away there then).

In a recent game a group of blades was pinned by a single Psiloi with the left flank blade element in its threat zone.
A legal move looked like the group could move forwards, in the Psiloi threat zone, and contact the front edge of the Psiloi, with its front corner. We understood this was acceptable and then lined up the Psiloi element with the left flank blade and fought the combat.
We did check the recent Jan 2018 FAQ which has the example of the same situation but the corner of the group contacts the rear edge (not legal), and when the front edge of a group meets the rear corner of the element (legal and element conforms), therefore we assumed our scenario of group front corner to element front edge led to conforming.
Is this correct?

Ah camp tactics - I remember my first ever PAWS event, when I was kindly provided with Vikings (littoral). I am sure it was Martin, might have been Richard, who produced a box of multi dimensional camps, and dropped one of 1/2 bw by 3bw on a waterway as ‘an anti littoral landing’ camp. One learns fast in such environments.

I was interested how many of the potential participants, have had to recruit new armies for the event. The geography is definitely not one that I know well, and it has been interesting developing some knowledge to assist selection, and the subsequent commission for the painting...tricky to bring one’s painting gear to Guyana.

I saw in the recent Slingshot the write up that Martin provided on this Tourney, and excellent it was. Good to see a piece that looked at the mental approaches of different players. Some with strategies and others less so. The explanation has made put this in the diary as an Event to attend and catch up with all the great guys I have met at PAW’s events and Alton, and hopefully others.
Thanks

Did not recognise you first of all with the long locks. Very Gallic.
Thanks for all the write ups.

Great, think the wording threw me for BW v LH that I had raised at an event before. LH are destroyed by BW when doubled both when in close combat and when shot at.

It is clear that Psiloi are destroyed when in close combat with bows. And they ie the Psiloi are doubled.
Is this also the case when shot at. The wording goes at the bottom of page 11 ‘or if in close combat against Auxilia, Bows or Psiloi.’
Does not say anything about bows shooting.
Thanks
Peter

Scott,
Ok noted. As you advised we actioned that advice in that game, but in following ones asked a similar question, and got some differing answers, hence the question.
Will take forward your response.
Thanks peter

How does one actually do this in practice. A situation came up at the recent Alton Matched Pairs on this theme, and many of the experienced players present had variations.
1. Do you have to move into the centre of the camp and stay there at the end of the bound. 2. Can you sweep through the camp centre and out the other side and call it captured. 3. Can you pass through a corner of the camp and call it captured? 4. Can you end a bound partly in a camp and call it captured.
Any advice?
