I recently answered an enquiry about an army I built asking for background on the army and what figures I used. This reminds me of the old fanaticus thread where there were photos in an eye candy section plus army notes in another...which were all helpful in building new armies.
This has given me the idea of maybe doing something similar here on this forum but in a different way.I want to throw it open for input from forum members and to Cromwell who is the forum administrator. The idea is for members to post on the thread to create a reference for each army including photos, info, flags, figure choice and manufactures or anything else a member feels is relevant to assembling and using the army. The idea in time that an online reference guide to each army will be available on the forum for gamers to use as a guide to gain information to building new armies in future.I think in the case of photos I would suggest links to the external sources so as not to flood the forum with photos which will clog the forum storage due to the size of the files.Other external files or references could also be added to the thread too?
Any thoughts on this idea are welcome?

Well done Haardrada. I must admit I initially read this as "my first lot of Late Ammonites" and wondered if this was a HOTT army!! Then I realised my mistake. So I had to go and look up Amorites!! Now I am a bit more educated about the nomadic peoples of western Mesopotamia, Semitic-speaking, I am told, from the Bronze Age!! My 'middle east' early history is sadly lacking. CarlL I must admit I had a similar reaction before I considered book I armies, all this mention of biblical stuff(including the title of the range of figures!), put me right off!I had added Early Hu as an expansion of a Hsuing nu army(book 2), But once I started checking the armies and History out on YouTube I bought into them...starting with the Sea Peoples(Bronze age Viking types 😁), then I added the Late Amorites, Spring & Autumn Chinese and lately the Guti Revolt.

Completed my first lot of Late Amorites today...5x3Bd & 2x4Ax.Now with all the 4 figure elements out the way it on to the 3's & 2's.....4x3Ax & 2x2Ps.😁 Excellent! - but wot no horde! The Hordes are both in the last batch with the General(just the Lch,I've not opted for the 4Bw) and baggage/camp element.😁

Between yesterday and today I was able to clean up, glue on to painting nails and prime the figures for the 3Cv(G), 3Cv and 2xLH elements. Over the weekend I aim to apply paint to the Light Horse figures, base and flock them. Let's see how successful I'll be. Cheers, You are nearly there!🙂👍

A completed IV/13a Medieval German army (1106-1150AD)..of the Wendish Crusade 1147AD...based on the army of Henry the Lion, Duke of Saxony & Bavaria and brother in law of Richard I of England. I've tried a new basing technique to give a Northern European rather than my Dusty sandy look and I like the outcome. Danish and Early Polish contingents to follow once I've completed the Late Amorites. Medieval Germans IV/13a painted, based and awaiting flocking.....I can't believe I've done it in 14 days(16 elements)!🙂
Since I'm awaiting the arrival of an order morphing the Danish allied contingent into a full army, I'll leave them (and the alternative Early Polish contingent) until they've arrived. Meanwhile I'll make a start on my Late Amorites.😁

Taking advantage of the Museum miniatures sale I've ordered some Normans/Bretons to use in a Viking Leidang III/40d army.😁

I'd like to add The Perilous Frontier by TJ Garfield...it's listed as a reference source for several Chinese Northern Border Armies for DBA 3.0....but it has very little in reference to most armies it is listed for and only gives a general overview at best.It doesn't discuss anything to do with arms armour, tactics or battle references. You are far better reading Soldiers of the Dragon by C.Peers.

I started batch two of the Medieval Germans this morning....6x4Bd(including 4 dismounted Kn),prepped and undercoated.🙂
Carll you would think that by adding a further six elements you would be nearly finished, but with four of the next elements being dismounted Kn I'd only actually have seven of the permitted elements that I can place on the table ready...it just looks like a small step when actually you are going a good way to completing the army as batch 3 consists of only five elements.😂
