We've had a couple of extra entries. At this stage if there is no game day attrition we are looking at 16 entries. Most of the lists are in too Cheers Great news regarding the numbers, Dave. Should be a great day. Looking forward to the Runners and Riders list when available.....hopefully lots of variety.

Macbeth, please don't list the players who have come last at Landwaster. Asking on behalf of a bloke I know .... That bloke's luck is sure to turn soon......

Dave, it would be great if you posted a list of the most prolific Landwaster participants over the past twenty years?

Thanks for that Baldie. At least all of the work is done for next year. Cheers, I think it might be the Warband theme causing bad luck......barbarians love causing chaos. Change it to something more orderly!

From the often overlooked "Troop Definitions" section on page 3 of the rules: Mounted troop types are: Elephants, Knights, Cavalry, Light Horse, Scythed Chariots or Camelry. Foot troop types are: Spears, Pikes, Blades, Auxilia, Bows, Psiloi, Warband, Hordes, Artillery or War Wagons. And within those definitions, Heavy Chariots are considered Knights and Light Chariots are Cavalry.

I'm self-reporting a change of heart......the Mountain Indians are out....Vlad and the mighty Wallachians are in! Not sure if that is lack of commitment or even bolder courage?!? Surely those two things aren't mutually exclusive!

Apologies to all for the delay in posting the results of the recent ‘Push of Pike’ comp. It was a great event, with 13 players fighting it out over 6 rounds. We had armies from every book represented although the majority came from Books 1 and 2. Each list was required to have at least 4 Pike elements.
The day was won by Greg Kelleher and his mighty Hawaiians. Greg won 5 of his games and his only loss was a narrow one (4/3). Guy Shepherd also played well, coming in second with his Graeco-Bactrians. I managed the third spot using Mountain Indians. Really starting to enjoy Ps heavy armies….interesting to play.
The rest of the standings were: Leigh Dunn IV/16 Scots Common Army Justin Swain II/27b Phyrric Andrew Chicco IV/59b Post Mongol Samurai Stephen Hopkins II/20c Ptolemaic Gary Moriarty I/32b Western Chou and Spring & Autumn Chinese (Wu or Yueh) David Lawrence I/1c Great Sumerian Revolt Dean Bedlington IV/12d Hawaiian Peter Spitz II/44 Commagene Michael Spitz III/36 Nan-chao and Ta-li Peter Rixon I/1c Great Sumerian Revolt
My sincere thanks to all the players. The usual fine spirit of good humour and goodwill we have come to expect was evident throughout the day.
There is an impressive schedule of local DBA competitions throughout 2021. The next opportunity for me to host another tournament is probably this time next year. When that happens, the theme will be the ‘Great Unwashed’, with armies requiring at least two Horde elements.
Cheers, Mark

Only a few days to go. At this stage we have 13 entrants but there's plenty of room at the venue for more....pass the word around! Below is the 'Runners and Riders' list - a good selection of armies although they'll be two Great Sumerian Revolt armies, presumably revolting against each other and a civil war on Maui.
David Lawrence I/1c Great Sumerian Revolt 2250BC Peter Rixon I/1c Great Sumerian Revolt 2250BC Gary Moriarty I/32b Wu or Yueh Chinese Army 584-480BC Mark Baker II/2 Mountain Indian 500-170BC Steve Hopkins II/20c Ptolemaic 166-54BC Phil Baldoni II/27b Pyrrhic 280-272BC Leigh Dunn II/29 Tien & K’un – Ming Chinese 295BC-45AD Guy Shepherd II/36a Graeco-Bactrian 250-130BC Peter Spitzkowsky II/44 Commagene 163BC Mick Sellman II/48 Mithridatic 110-47BC Dean Bedlington IV/12d Hawaiian Greg Kelleher IV/12d Hawaiian Andrew Chicco IV/59b Post Mongol Samurai 1465-1542AD

Is it a case of mix and match of stuff? What you fine people think? Yes, absolutely, mix and match.....I used Essex figures in Evil Gong wagons. Plus another brand (forgot which) for artillery etc. It's actually an army suited to picking and choosing from different ranges.

But if I bring the Swiss I'd feel compelled to wear lederhosen, and that is something I'm not sure that I'd want to inflict upon by DBA brethren 🤣! Cheers, Ohhhh, didn't I mention this??....there's a dress code.....no singlets, thongs (flip-flops to our American friends) and NO lederhosen.
