Hi all,
Warfare 2023, organised and run by the Wargames Association of Reading is keen to run DBA and HOTT tournaments as a part of the show. They are celebrating some round-number anniversary of the WRG and are keen to have all their games represented.
DBA Tournament - Saturday, 11th November
Theme: Armies and enemies of the Roman Republic
Each player should bring a valid 12-element army in 15mm and any terrain, dice and measuring sticks they may need. The boards will be provided.
The DBA tournament will use the standard v3.0 rules and have 5 rounds, which should also allow plenty of time to visit the trade stands and have lunch. The tournament will use the Swiss chess system and we will make every effort to avoid the same players playing twice.
The winner will receive a trophy and there will be a selection of prizes.
HOTT tournament - Sunday, 12th November
Note: This event is subject to the number of players wishing to participate. However, the event organiser is keen to hold it and the minimum number of participants needed to run the event is very low.
Each player should bring a valid 24AP army in 15mm and any terrain, dice and measuring sticks they may need. The boards will be provided.
The HOTT tournament will use the standard rules and have 4 rounds, though we will squeeze 5 in if possible. We would also like to allow plenty of time to visit the trade stands and have lunch. The tournament will use the Swiss chess system and we will make every effort to avoid the same players playing twice.
The winner will receive a trophy and there will be a selection of prizes.
Event Details
Warfare is one of the largest wargaming events in the UK - information at wargamesreading.co.uk/warfare-2023/
Link to the tournaments can easily be found from their start page and I am working with the overall event organiser on a section for the DBA/HOTT tournament. I will post a link once it has been published.
Tickets will be £25 for each event, or £45 for both tournaments and this also includes entry into the main event. A link to the tickets has not been published yet, but one it is it will be at wargamesreading.co.uk/product-category/warfare-tickets/
Once again, I will let you know when this has gone live.
Let me know!
For now, before the tickets become available, it would be useful to know the number of people interested, so we can have appropriate space allocated. I would appreciate if anyone interested could post a response to this thread, or message me.
Equally, if you need any additional info please let me know.
I hope to see you there!
