Thanks Andrea - the issue about undefended camps came up a couple of times in DBA tournaments, as I like LH armies, and attacked camps when they did not have elements or dwellers in them. So undefended.
My opponents considered that there should be a combat of my LH against the camp....we got rulings and on both times, tje camp was sacked ultimately by just riding through it..,.
I now always in friendlies or competitions put a camp dweller element in my camps for this very reason....

Stevie - thanks. I remember the TZ bit of an undefended camp arising at a PAWs event - so a LH element could not ride for 2 Or 3 moves to sack a camp, but had to wait 1 BW away before sacking....
But what about when they are only 2BW away at the start of their bound....

Where there are no normal element or camp followers in a camp - it is undefended.
I have a LH element 2 BW away from an undefended camp.
To sack it do I;
1. Move 2BW into the Camp and stop, counting It as sacked then. And can only move again next bound.
2. Or can I move through the Camp in one 4BW move, in essence sacking it on the way?
If the LH was 6BW away and I had 2 PIPs, can I
3. move 4BW and then another 4BW to Sack it on the way through,
4. Move 4BW and then 2BW to get inside it to sack it,
5. Or move 4BW and then only 1BW as the second move cannot be closer that 1BW to the ‘enemy’
Also to sack An Undefended camp, do I Need to;
6. Just touch it,
7. Have some of the sacking element inside it.
8. Have all the element ending inside it like 1. And 4. Above
9 have all the element passing through it or
10 just have a small part of the element passing through it...
Some combinations there but thoughts appreciated....
Thanks Peter

I tend to use two bases 20mm deep. One with the standard 3 or 4 bows and one with the horse holders and mounts.
This is more economical as you do not have to purchase and paint up double amounts of bows.
Just as long as one explains to ones oppo that in effect the two bases are stuck together - no one seems to mind.
Another observation is that when you get DBA 3 armies from Essex say, you often get actual bow figures mounted on horses ie the Scots Common or Central Asian Turkish mounted on Camels. These are not technically aligned with the rules, but assume that no one would mind putting these on 40x40 bases say as Mtd-Bw etc

Was looking forwards to this event.
But another casualty in the battle v C19.
Something in the later Autumn would be great to looks forwards to - after the cricket season, if we even get one of those.
Take care all

Yes - just popped up in my diary as a reminder today.
It could be a busy Autumn. May not be able to work then as so many wargame events to take part of in....
Trust everyone is OK - and becoming solo wargames experts with no lead mountains left....

Martin,
Fully understood.
Will need to keep the Feudal Spanish and Andalusians in their camps for now until battle can resume.
Take care everyone and am sure that we can all try and beat 7 bells out of each other over 2ft of battlefield - at Martin’s excellently facilitated Event later in the year.

During play testing for Alton last night there were some intricate geometries presented involving single elements and Grouos, and my oppo was questioning my application of the rules - which is fine. We agreed to check with the forum.my understanding is that;
1. If the front corner of a single element is contacted by the front edge of a Group, then the element confirms into contact front edge to front edge with the element in the group it was contacted by. And
2. The front corner of a group cannot move into contact with the front edge of an element as illegal, and therefore the element does not conform into contact with the front edge of the element in the group whose corner contacted it.
Is that correct?
Thanks
Peter

Do we have the final standings from Saturday Bill?

On game length and overall format etc.
I have played in a few events now, and have been very much welcomed from being a green tournament starter to a reasonably experienced player. The organisation has been good and flows, once started. Yes it can be a bit hectic sometimes.
Start time - yes should be prompt. Think waiting for the odd late player should be avoided. If anround is missed then an Ave draw result could be provided or the average points for games played worked out and into the final standings.
Game time. 50 is reasonable. I have had a tendency to go for LH armies and try and manoeuvre, but end up having to be a bit rash in order to force a result and have probably lost more than won doing That.
Final - well I have never troubled the scorers and been in one, and tend to leave when the league groups have been completed. Personally - to get 5 games is good, and then the winner be selected From the person with the highest points total would work for me. Sometimes luck of the draw.
