Some so-called super glues are anything but.I recommended Loctite super glue ...even better if it is a high viscosity glue for metal on metal....we used to use that stuff on the Intelligent pipeline inspection tools(pigs) we used oil, gas, water etc. at pressures greater than 2 Bar pressure and I don't recall loosing any bits.ππ

Now I have my Z range Museum Normans/Bretons my next project can continue.I originally wanted to add a III/40d Viking Leidang allied contingent to the IV/13a Medieval Germans and liked the look of the Museum figures and decided to choose them for the foot elements. But when the Museum January sale came along I expanded the allied contingent into the full army at a reasonable cost....Not knowingly I'd triggered a major expansion of my Viking armies as by borrowing the two Blade elements from the Medieval Germans and creating a General element from spare figures I can field a Viking (b) & (c) army as the figures also fit the time period of both the lists.
This has also sorted a dilemma I had for a Viking army I have in my lead pile which I couldn't decide whether it was going to be a 3Bd or 4Bd army.
To cut a long story short I've managed to acquire enough elements to field any of the Viking sub-lists when the armies are completed.....let the painting begin.π

Taking advantage of the Museum miniatures sale I've ordered some Normans/Bretons to use in a Viking Leidang III/40d army.π A month later I've got my grubby paws on them since they were bought as a Birthday present. Now I've seen them I'm very impressed with the detail....and the difference in scale with the Essex figures I already have is minimal.π

I use model sand and PVA over a coat of tile grout(when dry),which is also mixed with PVA...this gives a very robust base texture and is cheap to produce....it is also easy to remove.π

I managed to finish the Early Polish and "most" of the Viking Leidang allied contingents for the Medieval Germans today...I say "most" of the Vikings as I have the 2x4Bd to do but they are part of the rest of the army I can't open until Saturday.π₯³π
Until then I'll Potter on and find some scenery or odds and ends to do.π€

Great work Haadrada, great link (non FB) and beautiful Amorite army! Great edifice! And I thought it was just 25mm DBA gamers who have problems getting their chariots to fit on dba bases!! Well done, chariot looks great. CarlL The Chariot/Platform car was a doddle...I just fitted it together on the base before glueing it and marked up with a pencil..... simples.π

I finished the I/15 Late Amorites today and included an Edifice I had intended for use for a camp with a Sea Peoples army but once you check the measurements it's a little too large to be a standard camp....but can still be used as an Edifice camp or stand alone terrain piece. The Late Amorites are also an enemy of the Egyptians so the vandalised Edifice can be used to taunt any wanna-be Ramases the Great.π The figures are all Essex miniatures and the Edifice is from Hovels miniatures. For photos see fb.... www.facebook.com/share/p/fZBSyV4dN7Y61ae8/or postimg.cc/gallery/6JfCGn17Those look great Haardrada! Whatβs up next? It's back to the Medieval Germans in a way...I have the two allies contingents to do...the Early Poles and the Danes. The Poles are easy, just a 3Cav element plus 2x3 Bow.But I expanded the Danes to the full III/40d Leidang army....I just couldn't resist the Museum miniatures sale.lol

Great idea, Haardrada. There is something similar (to your idea) on the SoA Forum. CarlL Thanks Carll, it's not a new idea as there used to be similar threads on the old Fanaticus site, this idea is trying to bring the eye candy(photos) together with army notes and source information....without loading huge files onto threads in this forum....if it works.I'm currently working out what format to use and aiming to contact the rule writers as I don't want members to run foul of copyright or other permissions.

I finished the Late Amorites today and they are ready for flocking...they took a bit longer as I added an edifice into the work and that is done too....I'll post pics when the bases are finished.

I recently answered an enquiry about an army I built asking for background on the army and what figures I used. This reminds me of the old fanaticus thread where there were photos in an eye candy section plus army notes in another...which were all helpful in building new armies.
This has given me the idea of maybe doing something similar here on this forum but in a different way.I want to throw it open for input from forum members and to Cromwell who is the forum administrator. The idea is for members to post on the thread to create a reference for each army including photos, info, flags, figure choice and manufactures or anything else a member feels is relevant to assembling and using the army. The idea in time that an online reference guide to each army will be available on the forum for gamers to use as a guide to gain information to building new armies in future.I think in the case of photos I would suggest links to the external sources so as not to flood the forum with photos which will clog the forum storage due to the size of the files.Other external files or references could also be added to the thread too?
Any thoughts on this idea are welcome?
