Enjoyed the 'Breakfast Show' this morning with a coffee and croissant. Unfortunately, my croissant was finished before the 30 minute mark...and there was more video to view.
Good battle and nice to see more terrain on the board.
That is a license to have a second croissant.

Not really. It is hard to follow and was going on when it was insane at work.

Case (d) that Bob mentioned is another weirdyism. I think the "no enemy to its front" refers to the Overlapping element not the other element. So it still may be illegal to make corner to corner only contact if your not moving into overlap. Side edge to side edge only with no element in front edge contact is another odd case.

TomT Recall the rule from 2.0 "Other troops can move into contact with enemy elements only if a single element or at least one element of a group ends in both front edge and front corner-to-front corner, or full front edge to rear edge, contact with an enemy element or overlaps enemy already in close combat." I, for one, complained about the prohibition against moving into corner or edge to edge contact with enemy, unless that enemy was in combat contact. Phil agreed with this and added the Case (d). "At the end of the bound’s movement phase the contacting element or at least one element of a contacting group must be lined-up with an enemy element, either; (a) in full mutual front edge contact, (b) in full front edge to rear edge contact, or (c) in front edge to side edge contact with front corners in contact, or (d) with no enemy in contact to its front, but in overlap (see p.10)." Cases (a) to (c) concern lining up with enemy to the front of the moving element, either to front, to rear, or to side. (d) says you can move with no enemy to the front but move to overlap an enemy. The moving element has no enemy in contact with its front, but is in overlap with the enemy. This applies to any form of overlap. Phil does not allow "weirdyisims"

Tony,
Thanks for posting these videos. The army variety is great.
I've recently moved cities, and am working from home, so I watch them over lunch a few times a week. Although I have had only one DBA game in 6 months your efforts are keeping my interest up and continuing my education.
Cheers

Good to see a Carthaginian win in this classic match up - must have been Hannibal rather than Hanno or Hasdrubal! Paul - what do you stats say? How unusual is that?
