Last night's series of games are now up - Blind Psiloi Pstupidity - DBA 3.0youtu.be/kGdByKlerLAIn this set of three De Bellis Antiquitatis 3.0 battles, Mitch, Joe and I play some games using the Blind General modifications in addition to being restricted to having to play an army that has a minimum of six psiloi elements. This modification involves rolling your own PIPs but you do not know how many you rolled until you try and use them and your opponent tells you you're out. The players and the armies they used are: Joe Kohten II/39c Lusitanian Tony Aguilar IV/58 Medieval Irish (with Edward the Bruce's invasion force) Mitch Harbach III/34a Andalusian w/Feudal Spanish ally We REALLY enjoyed playing this way and they made for some real excitement and took the gameplay to the next level. We recommend you try them out. Don't forget to support my channel by giving me a like and subscribing.

I have been playing Blucher (Napoleonic) by Sam Mustafa and he uses a blind initiative roll so you don't know how much you can get done in a turn. It's loads of fun. I was thinking that would be an interesting way to play DBA but sounds like the "Blind General" modificatons have already gone there. Curious if that is where you got the idea as well Tony. Apologies if I missed any previous talk about that modification. I don't frequent this site as much as I used to.

Scott Ludwig was the one who came up with the idea and he said he was inspired by Blucher. I have never played it though so I am taking his word for it.

Well it only took almost all day for YouTube to process this but FINALLY it is out. Classical Jewish Battles - DBA 3.0youtu.be/4ndUJnxLBzM Mitch and I play a series of De Bellis Antiquitatis 3.0 games based on a series of matchup that involve Classical Jewish armies. This theme was suggested to me by Michael Perlmutter who wanted to see some of his ancestors in battle. I already had two of these armies on my to do list as they looked interesting but I had no idea how much of a riot these battles would be. The matchups are as follows: II/43 Maccabean Jewish vs. II/19c Seleucids II/50 Hasmonean Jewish vs. II/19d Seleucids II/51 Late Judean vs. II/20d Ptolemaic II/59 Jewish Revolt vs. II/56 Early Imperial Roman I hope you enjoy these matchups as much as we did and don't forget to support my channel by Subscribing for more content.
