Tony - It’s just like “pinky!” You got to keep using those Samnites until they win! You only got another 5 historical enemies to go!
It has been fun watching DBA played with different armies than usual. I think it makes for better battles.

Mitch was just on a roll last night and seemed to roll well when I rolled well. |

Another good set of games there (well...perhaps not for Tony).
And I do like the terrain pieces...especially the Enclosure.
At the beginning of the first game I initially thought that Tony had
rolled the ‘1’ for aggression, and it was Mitch that had rolled the ‘3’,
and I couldn’t understand why Mitch with the higher aggression was
the defender.
It took me several minutes before I realised that I had my headphones
on back-to-front, and although Tony’s voice was in my left ear, he was
actually sitting on the right!
So it’s no use me offering any advice on how to play with the Samnites
when I can’t even wear headphones properly! Ha, ha, ha!

Despite the frustration, I think all the six game the Samnites have been in have been exciting and MOST could have gone either way. I am going to attribute the loses to the fact that Mitch used two dice. |

I really enjoyed those games you all played with Joe's Eastern Franks thanks lads.. .Its great to see games where I have(or can improvise), more than one of the armies and it can either confirm my suspicions about using certain elements or improve my understanding of how the army works for better or worse. 😁👍

I have a question for you Tony... ...in the six games you commanded the II/13 Samnites, why did you deploy them in one long line with no reserves? Now I’m no fan of 4Ax (!), but surely if anyone needs reserves to plug the gaps that will inevitably appear it’s the auxiliaries. (Six battles, six times no reserves, and six defeats.
I’m not saying having reserves will win...but not having them don’t help)  |
