Are there any Commagene armies out there? I know of two Commagene armies here in The NAGS Empire. I've lost repeatedly to both of them! A check of the COMPENDIVM shows that the Commagenes sport a 44-34 record locally.

Essex does offer a 15mm DBA army-pack for the III/27 Rshtuni Armenian army. The figure-choices Essex makes for their army-packs, as we know, are rather dubious at times. What do folks think of the choices for their Rshtuni pack? Plausible? Laughably inappropriate? Or, somewhere between? DBA-3 III/27

Prior to its independence, the Armenian houses were split between their support for the empire of Byzantium or Persia. Mounted troops might therefore have had similar armour and weaponry as their benefactors such that an independent Armenian force might have a mix of the two. The Armenian list runs parallel with the Arab Conquest to include the first sub-list of the Umayyad, so search the Essex list for Byzantine, Sassanid and the Georgian. I like the Sassanid (SA4) light cavalry figure and Parthian horse archer (PA2 & PA4) as volunteer LH..
Foot troops were a general levy from each of the Armenian houses, so you might consider using Dacian spearmen (DC3) and Dailami spearmen (AEA22).

Paul:
Thank you very much for sharing the stats - an interesting (and info based) set of information. It seems Blade base armies are both popular and tend to be well over .500 W-L.
Would love to see 3.0 stats to compare and see what's trending (or how we screwed up balance....)
By the way please send me any events/tournament etc. results. Your region should be doing well in the House Cup race (now dominated by two Southern regions), but I don't have any results from you region. The new season started in July and already the South East is pulling ahead. Send me results! Also can counts toward Player of the Year (also now dominated by South East). (If you guys fly out to Historicon any winner can play in the NICT - but I realize logistics work against the far west for that title).
As to figures several companies make boxed sets of plastic Native Americans in 28mm mostly for the French and Indian war but easy to back date. I'm considering them as an extra army for my Knights and Knaves campaign set in 1480 New World but populated by Margaret of Anjou and her Lancaster exiles (its alternative history).
Anyway please send me results....

Are there any Commagene armies out there? A bit off-topic, but does anyone here know of any historical battles in which the Commagenes were a principal antagonist, i.e., not just an allied contingent? --I'd like to cook up a scenario for them.

No mention of battles, but the revolt of Ptolemaeus from the Seleucid Empire would be a start. An alternative is the Armenian campaign of 84-83 BC, led by Tigran II, resulting in the annexation of Cilicia Pedias and the kingdom of Commagene.
