Does anyone know of manufacturers other than Irregular who make Polish Knights for 13th century with the crested helmet? Preferably available UK.
Thanks

Take a look at QR Miniatures figures (Poland). With a weak pound they will cost more than formally, but lovely figures. The infantry really look like they have multi layers of clothing and the detail is excellent. I had very good service from them several years ago when I made a very early Early Polish, an early Polish and a very early Early Russian. They are some of my favourite figures... and the medieval crossbow men...Wow!

Thanks Colin. They are indeed very nice figures and I am now considering using the foot figures. I am looking for some later knights circa 1250-1300 that look like drawing 114 in the Heath Armies of Feudal Europe book and so far have only found Irregular. These look nice but am also after a bit of variety!
Cheers

I'm away from home at the moment so don't have any reference books to hand - could you remind me of what the Heath illustration shows?

Thanks Colin. The picture shows a knight in mail wearing a helm with a sort of Mohican haircut!!! These are from the Irregular Miniatures page.

Ah yes, a peculiar appendage. I don't know of any other manufacturer who makes such a figure.

Simon, I have a few (okay, three) of that Minifigs rider and horse that Peter just referenced. Unpainted surplus. Yours, if you want them. Gratis.
Probably to no one's surprise, I have a goodly number more Mikes Models Polish Knights, sculpted with more of the Mohawk look. Again, unpainted. Dismounts too! (Not that they get to do that in DBA-3.) Want any?

Ah! The Minifigs figure. I had forgotten about that. It must be around 5 years since I did my Polish - soon after QR began trading and before they added extra poses to many of their packs (annoying). I haven't seen the Mikes Models figure. Compatibility between Irregular, Minifigs and Mike's Models may be an issue, but that could be eased by replacing horses more in style with the one piece casting of the Irregular figure. This may be more of a project than you had in mind - either way I hope to see your Early Polish at a tournament sometime soon!!
