I concur Bob RE the large, expensive, packages. Wasted lead. Sure, for DBA armies. But you can make bigger armies or more DBA armies with a few references :-p. That said, the packaging is more adapated to some DBA armies, like hoplites or full cavalry armies. I bought their sassanids through their second "ancients" kickstarter, they were a pleasure to paint... Just ordered spartan hoplite boxes, the additional figs (light infantry and cavalry) will make units for other greek armies. I'll certainly pledge on their third "ancients" kickstarter, depending on the armies made. PROS : variety of the poses, quality of the scuplts, number of ranges in the covered periods CONS : packaging too big for DBA, price... My two favorite manufacturers are FIB and khurasan, essex being the "default" choice.

Forged in battle will have some of their 15mm ranges at Recon in Leeds on 2 Dec. Not sure which ranges as I only asked about their WW2 ones.
Also, I asked them about selling DBA armies. They are willing to do so could only but only during quieter time on the production line. Price would also vary according to the mould configuration.
Might be worth other people asking as well.
On the subject of Slave revolt figures, Donnington do quite a few - not just gladiators in the theatrical gear, which probably never left the training school anyway!
Cheers

I see they have a boxed Roman Punic Wars army for 44pounds; 109 figures (DBA requires 42).

Just to be clear, a DBA army (not the same a boxed army) would need to be a special order.

I asked them about producing DBA armies when they first launched the War & Empire range, but didn't get a response. (I think at least one other UK player also asked and didn't get any reply either.) So if they are now more receptive to the idea, that is good news.

I like the look of FiB miniatures but agree that, as often the case, the packaging IS a big issue. Given that miniature manufacturers are in the game of flogging us miniatures the you would have thought that the (tax deductible) cost of buying a set of rules and working out how to package the armies so that they are easier to flog to us DBA players wouldn't be that hard. But it seems it is! This is why I do like Magister Militum - who package their figures as DBA elements (with a base) if that's what you want plus sell DBA armies. Xyston initially scored big on this front with their DBA armies but since have not introduced more DBA armies to reflect their increasing range. Where for example is Xyston's Parthian Army? I'd buy it like a shot if it were available! Big thumbs up for Baueda on this front who sell 7 lovely DBA armies WITH camps included and plan to expand this by another 18 "soon." So please tell FiB miniatures that if they package their figures in DBA army sets that they'll almost certainly be selling me Picts, Scots-Irish, Vandal, Visigoth and Ostrogoth armies over the nest 12-24 months. If they don't I won't be buying them! In tye meantine Baueda Normans look good! www.baueda.com/hostis_frn.html#DBAIII-53 Paddy
