I have some friends falling right along with me. Most of may army choices are as opponents to what they have or are buying. Those Saxons will definitely need some opposing forces bought; they were offered at a good price and gave me an opportunity to see how I like Viking Forge figures without dealing with their website. I have been looking at the II/81 lists, those hit an old interest point of mine...but all that cavalry gets expensive fast. I have to cut myself off for a bit while I digest these armies (I also have II/53 in process) and while I work through building up terrain.
Did I mention I *just* fell down this rabbit hole? Somehow I missed DBA over the past decades of gaming. My friends and I both feel a bit like Dug the dog in Up. Squirrel! So many cool lists & figures to explore.

I've just put in an order to Khurasan with a group of like minded individuals so that we can share the postage cost from the US to Oz.
I myself have grabbed figures to make up a Shang Dynasty Chinese plus s few odds and sods.
My friends have added many and varied pieces to the order.
Cheers

Taking advantage of the Museum miniatures sale I've ordered some Normans/Bretons to use in a Viking Leidang III/40d army.😁 A month later I've got my grubby paws on them since they were bought as a Birthday present. Now I've seen them I'm very impressed with the detail....and the difference in scale with the Essex figures I already have is minimal.🙂

Also ordered some Z-Sculpts from Museum Miniatures. Arrived this past week. Been busy past few days, only checked to see everything ordered was in box. Mainly additions to the Morphable Dark Ages Mob, ready to fight anytime from the fall of Rome to the 1st Crusade. And some Thracians. Been spending most of January and Feb hibernating. Only 22 days huntil the Equinox. Gotta finish a few stands, hold a mass flocking with air purifier on, and shoot some pics.

Placed an order with TimeCast for more Dark Age types.
These will serve as levies/spearmen/auxilia for the Later Visigothic, Merovingian and Patrician Roman.

Just one new army per year I said....
paint up the armies I have to reduce the pile I said....
I've already acquired three new armies since Christmas.....oops scratch that, I've now ordered enough "bits" to produce a morph army that can be used as either Pre-Feudal Scots or Free Cantons German.😆

Keep us updated on how those are.
I'm putting together a couple of orders. Bunch of HOTT stuff from Alternative Armies, and most of a II/56 Roman army at Khurasan, plus a little HOTT stuff.

Cheers, These are the new Fanatic range - base and highlights should be interesting with their new triad system and I’m looking forward to seeing how their reds and yellows perform. Lot of good previews on YouTube 👍 P

You mean like Army Painter's regular paints? ;p That would be nice as i have the shake the heck out of them before use right now (it doesn't help that I'm mostly using the speedpaints).

They are Army Painter - they've changed the formulae. Their washes have also been relaunched and aren't as thin as they were previously.
