I was planning on a bit of reverse alchemy at SALUTE tomorrow, but I've just noticed that Essex miniatures aren't going to be there, so it'll probably be just a re-stock of paints and bases.

I actually got to see a google earth picture of the Essex Miniatures HQ. Rather unassuming to say the least. Still, I've sent them a lot of my money over the years ( including an impulse purchase yesterday of another DBA 3.0 army of Ancient British just to bolster my Celtic armies.)

We all have our afflictions and crosses to bear (or should we bare them?) Enjoy your Brits! I need someone to harass my Romans! In my area of the gaming world I live by the 'Build it and they will come" maxim meaning the best way for me to keep DBA current is by being able to provide all the armies...

I have actually been there a couple of times. Causes no end of surprise when they get a paying customer turn up in person. They used to have an "artist's impression" of the shop on their paper catalogues. Needless to say it looks nothing like. I ordered the figures on-line when I got back from SALUTE and they turned up a couple of days ago. (Some later Sargonid infantry plus a chariot.) Quite a novelty still having spare cash left over after a day at SALUTE.

'Tis Thanksgiving here in ye US, I have much to be thankful for, not least that I'm still alive and kicking. Hope 'twas a happy day for you and yours.
Had a great time at Historicon/Fall In, saw lot of friends for first time in years, acquired a pile of 15mm Essex figures - Hellenistic phalangites and Tang Chinese, and some 28mm Arab horsemen, to fill in the ranks, and a big bag of Corvus Belli Imperial Romans, don't need more IR but 'twere irresistably cheap, may put some up for sale or trade...
First of the Wargame Factory Saxons is progressing along - I haven't assembled a 'hard plastic' kit in decades, getting used to working with styrene cement again.

I've joined an Australian consortium doing a bulk purchase of figures from Khurusan. My purchases include odds and sods from their HYW and 14th century ranges, as well as enough packs to field any of the Three Kingdoms of Korea armies (II/75, II/76 & II/77), though not at the same time. Cheers, Finally got these last weekend and have sorted them into various troop types. I hope to start work on the English HYW figues this weekend to fill in the gaps. Cheers,

Have just ordered a Napoleonic 15mm Russian army for the grand total of £18 for 120ish piece army. Going to try DBN. Will also see what tomorrow's Warfare 21 show at Ascot racecourse will bring!

Bought 3 piece set of 10mm/15mm desert terrain from Two Sheds Fred via ebay. Very, very nice and I'm delighted with them. Items were exactly as per the pic on ebay, delivered well packed and nothing broken or bent, even though all 3 pieces included palm trees. As well as selling on ebay they have their own website - just search on twoshedsfred.

A Christmas Tree! Although I have pointed out that it is 23 days until Christmas, and that any tree obtained now will drop needles rending it as Bald as Telly Savalas by 25th of December, we have to go ahead. Christmas starts on the 25th December and ends 26th December BAH HUMBUG!

Purchased some cavalry figures from Magister Militum, as I want to do up a Cimmerian army at some point, and just got notice from them that the package has been shipped, so I might get start on them soon enough.
