Eric Donaldson & I each recently purchased figures to create Welsh DBA armies. (15mm " Bloody Day Miniatures") Eric took III/19b South Welsh with all their Fast Longbows. I opted for the III/19c North Welsh with all their Fast Pikes. Great service: The figures arrived in less than a week! Each of us feels some buyer's remorse, however. I worry about being turned into pin cushions by all his missile fire. Eric fears being skewered by all my swift pikes. No matter...it will be fun to explore the tactics of a Welsh civil war in V-3.

Last night I took deliver of several packs of the new Essex Sui/Tang range - I will mix them in with my Khurusan and Outpost figs to make up both Early and Late Tang armies Cheers Salutations ! Picked up most of an Outpost Sui/Tang army at Syr Hobbs closeout sale, wondering what you think of: The 'size consistency' among these Outpost figures - do all these Outpost Sui/Tang figures in the same army fit together well?* How well the Essex and Khurusan figures mixed with them ? Comments and recommendations invited. *Review of the Outpost Republican Romans coming, real soon now It is a great time to be T'ang - with such a great range of figures available now.
I would say that the Outpost and Essex figures mix very well together - with Outpost you have to replace the spears/lances (which are cast separately) with something more substantial than the original issue - but otherwise the figures are excellent, a great range of type - the heavy swordsmen and foot command are exquisite.
Khurusan's Tang are ever so slightly bigger and chunkier but fill out a number of additional troops.
I am now debating with myself as to how soon I lash out and buy more of the Khurusan Sung figures
Cheers

Just sent off an order to the Mother Country for enough 15mm Chariot ( Magister Militum) figures to bring my II/19cd Seleucid army into Purple compliance and have it be ethnically pure. Ethnic purity, you ask? --A recent fetish of mine. Prior to its soak in the Dunk Tank™, there had been a few Museum, MM and even TableTop figures in the mix. Ack! Now, the army will be all of one brand. Ethnically pure. But, hey, wha' happened to the Camels?!? No more gimmicky, Seleucid Camels in V-3. Waaaaaa...//Paul

The camel mounted troops will find employment among the Arabo-Aramean lists or 'fighting for the other side'.

I am looking to place an order for some 28mm Pirates from Irregular.
I have this crazy idea of using some of my English Civil War figures and sending them to the Caribbean to flush out and put down some Buccaneers!
Once current project is finished I will create a fictional island and flesh out a campaign using my DB-RRR adaptation, One Hour ECW adaptation and Pikemans Lamnest for the small skirmishes.

I've just ordered my first Biblical army today. After long debate it was between 3 possibles and I decided on a Sea Peoples army. The rapid 3Bd with firmer 4Bd and Lch/Hch supported by 3Aux or Ps look fun....and can possibly cope with lots of 5Hd.🤔☺
Next will be an opponent NKE(b)? Or an enemy/ally...the Early Libyan (b) list?
Any thoughts?

I bought and painted a Sea Peoples army because: (a) I had always wanted a Bd army - but not Roman or Viking; and (b) at AU $30 it was a bargain! Its a lot of fun - the 9 Bd unnerve some opponents, and while vulnerable to Kn I have managed to kill a few and win some games with Bd kill Kn on a drawn close combat. I would suggest the NKE opponent for a more interesting opponent and a tougher fight.

What manufacturer did you both use for your Sea Peoples? Currently looking at various manufacturers for my own Biblical expansions.

What manufacturer did you both use for your Sea Peoples? Currently looking at various manufacturers for my own Biblical expansions. I fancied some of the Magister Millitum figures but opted for Essex. I love variation in figures within an element so am mixing armoured with unarmoured figures for change of pose.I've also ordered the Hch as a "deterrent" to some Kn heavy opposition.😊 I'm not impressed by some of the figures, but by bending a few arms and twisting a few heads I'll get more variation plus I'm using the Ox car with a flock of stollen sheep for the camp element...the ship model in the range plus suitable crew pack would cost more than half the army! I am leaning more to the NKE(b) list for Rameses III for a matching enemy army,as it is a full Historical opponent with good variance when the Libyan list is potentially a Big Battle ally. I chose the Sea Peoples as it has plenty of fast options meaning its good in all terrain and has some steady guys as back-up(especially with the interpenetration rules favouring the Bd 😉)if the fast Bd are recoiled by steadier foot. I can also get twisty with terrain options (if I roll low enough) to choose marsh, dunes and rivers to break things up a little.I ordered some Amera Sand dunes to use as moulds to cast-up some solid filler/pva dunes....these could mess things up for those Hd elements that are infiltrating a few army lists lately.😆

I fancied some of the Magister Millitum figures but opted for Essex. I have added some Magister Millitum Ps and camp (a couple of big oxen drawn carts) to my Sea Peoples (who are Vexilia, a discontinued range). The Magister figures are a bit finer and a touch smaller, but were so easy to paint and painted up so beautifully that I am considering getting some more to expand to a BBDBA force.
