Anyone else still playing 2.2 consistently? We still have 4-6 tourneys a year in Nebraska and Missouri (Iowa has fallen off.)
Will have a tourney in March in Omaha, NE area. Will advise when a date has been settled but is tentatively set for March 11th.

In America you might want to look at, and ask about DBA 2.2+ as well.

Seasonal greatings Vodnik, your post appeared when I have been asking myself where have all the 2.2 and 2.2+ Gamers gone?
I valued all input from gamers using all versions of dba as some of the basic mechanisms are prevelent in all versions of the rules.
It would be nice to see all gamers using the new forum.

There will be several reasons why there will be less heard from players of versions 2.2 and 2.2+ than version 3. For instance, I understand that some (although not all) of the 2.2+ players have started playing "Triumph!". The 2.2 and 2.2+ rules tend to be well-known and well discussed previously. Many of the people who play 2.2 or 2.2+ have done so for some time, so there may be less that they need to discuss. In my case, my current ancients game of choice is DBA version 1.1, using the army lists for version 2.2. However, if there were potential opponents locally who played either 2.2 or 2.2+, I would gladly play either.

I do know of some in the Midwest US and some in Texas. As far as 2.2+, there are some playing it in its new guise, though some didn't make the transition- though I don't understand why. As far as straight 2.2+, I know of none playing it now (besides those posting here)... though my experience is mainly in the South Eastern US. It seems that in the US that the West, South, and Colorado are all 3.0. Pockets of 2.2 are in the Midwest. The East went to 2.2+ in its new guise... though some have moved to LADG. England and NZ seem to have gone completely 3.0. Australia seems to have a healthy community playing both. I think France is 3.0. Spain seems to have stuck with 2.2. I have no idea for Italy and Germany...(Vodnik?) Joe Collins

I used 2.2+ for sometime. But having read, digested and tried out DBA 3.0 I have now moved over to it totally.

It's DBA 2.0-2.2 or bust for the group in my area AND for house games. A POX on the change to all army lists via 3.0. DBA has always been a great, easy play game great at conventions. Don't turn it into closer hybrid of DBM / DBMM. Booooo.

I never saw the need to change.

You do realize that you're the first two to respond to this thread since, 2016, right?!. There has to be a message in that somewhere.

We 2.0-2.2 players left that club and then because only 3 of us we set DBA aside. Praise be to GOD that 4 of our former DBAers saw the light and returned from that other club. So now we'll have at least 7 active players for our DBA craving, plus working to recruit more. So what did we do when we left DBA? We'd gravitated to ACW with RF&F / BF&F. Phil B should take multiple lessons on how to write, construct, diagram / picture DBA from the Fire & Fury team. RF&F / BF&F in my experience is the best rule set from the development, testing, and publishing process that I've seen in 50 years of gaming.

Phil unfortunately will probably not be taking lessons from anyone. At 86? he is retired from writing rules. We were hoping to see another version of HF&G. Sadly, we probably won't see it.

So was the "other" club the "People's Front" or the "Popular Front"?
