In memory of Sir William 'Night Owl' Waller, Sir Richard Bolle and all the cast and crew who made today memorable for the folk of the small town of Alton, Hampshire.
I believe our Moderator's ancestor was there. Which side?
Martin (in Alton )
My ancestor was from my Mothers side and was in fact Colonel Boles which was how our family have recorded the spelling of his name. Later it somehow got corrupted to Bolt! The late Donald Featherstone devised a great campaign based on this action in his book "Wargame Campaigns". I also created a scenario of the battle for the computer game "Pike and Shotte Campaigns" which Richard Bodley-Scott kindly uploaded for me.
