I'm not too sure how I missed this, came up in last nights game.
After the 1st bound, Non-Generals that use a PIP pay 1 extra PIP if: The General is beyond the Command Range, or has been lost.
I can't say i've ever seen this happen before or I've just missed it when it has.

I've had it happen a couple of times in my games. The leaderless army has a really hard time reacting to the opponent & usually gets wrapped up in a couple more bounds.

All I can think is that it must never had happened before (to me) in any game I've played or watched as so i was quite surprised .

It’s a fun experience, especially if you throw 1 for PIPs 🙃 I specialise….in getting generals killed, that is. I’d recommend a Kn or HCh gen in the front rank, preferably facing a marsh or gully he can get sucked in to.

Don’t give up.
You can overcome the loss of a general and reach a victory. Such victories are sweet.

I did once play a game where I killed my opponent's general only to lose my own a couple of bounds later.

I had a Cv squished by an El and rescued the situation by killing it with a Ps - this despite it being hard flanked. Ahah job done. In the next combat my Cv Gen was 1-6'd by a lowly Ax. Oh the fate of dice. I charged my main battle line in a last gamble and killed his Gen so now it was 2-2. He rolled a 2 for Pips - so a 1 - and I pointed out as he was about to make a mistake, in the interests of fair play, that the move he wanted to make was to hard flank my Bl. Which he duly did and won. A more experienced player would have spotted it, so it was only fair.

I did once play a game where I killed my opponent's general only to lose my own a couple of bounds later. And me. But not later. Same bound. One of my first battles... And in my first battle my Norse Irish general recoiled into some woods–and that was that.

It’s a fun experience, especially if you throw 1 for PIPs 🙃 It also means decision making is a lot, lot easier. It's extra fun with a El, Hd or WWg heavy army! But the ultimate is surely all of the above, but playing Blind General!!

These kinds of mistakes are the best learning opportunities. I know I've gotten much better at working the flanks...after getting mine worked over really good a few times.
