Interesting to see such *deep* basing for DBA - do you play on a much deeper table to compensate? And did this deep basing have any issues with game play, such as recoils, flank attacks, etc.?

Cheers You can find our basing system here: fanaticus.boards.net/thread/1855/deeper-basing-28mmNo, you dont need a deeper table, because depth in wargaming is mostly irrelevant. There are some small differences in game play coming from the different depth, nothing that changes the game. I discuss those in the link. |

The Persian armies were mostly taken by our better players and they also mostly used the Knight element (that IMO represents the Bactrians, that were sometimes, but not always used by the Persians) and the spear elements (that IMO represent greek hoplites where as the regular heavy infantry should be 4Aux). But in the end, the macedonians were taken back by the weak pikes. |
