After a long hiatus, I now have an over whelming urge to get back into DBA. (It probably has something to do with me recently watching the show Rome.)
So, I have brainstorming about what armies to buy and build. And, I really like the idea of modeling the 10,000 lead by Xenophon from Anabasis. I’m just unsure what list to use to represent them.
Maybe II/7 Later Achaemenid Persian for when they were under Cyrus until the battle of Cunaxa? After that I’m unsure which list to use.

Great show - shame there were only 2 series of it. It was largely Hoplites with some light troops and Peltasts - or if you want it in Xenophon's own words '11,000 Men at Arms (that is to say Hoplites) and 2,000 targetiers
ii/5 - Other Hoplite Armies in Greece 448-225 BC - maybe
Here is an audio link to the book if anyone hasn't read it or would like to hear it read to them

II/5J Overseas Mercenary expeditions.would seem a better choice. The enemy list fit the bill, Bithynian and Later Achaemenid Persian.

Hmm…Cunaxa…401 BC.
I reckon the Greek contingent are best as II/5j Later Hoplite Greek overseas mercenary expeditions…
Or If you want the full army at Cunaxa including the 10,000, then yes, II/7 Later Achaemenid Persian choosing plenty of the mercenary hoplite options…

Cunaxa is a great fight!
I do a version with 3+ Persian Armies on one side against 2 Persian and one Greek. The Persian side starts with everything on board. The rebels start with the Greeks and the Center Persian army deployed. The final rebel command enters turn 1.
It works very well.
