Reading this week's post I was struck by how very "un-DBA" that diagram of the Battle of Sellasia looks. Good luck replicating that with II/31d vs II/35! All the pike phalanxes are out in the wings (and possibly on difficult hills) with the cavalry in the center - hard to get that to work with the deployment rules, and why would you even want to! A good reminder that DBA is not a perfect tool for historical simulation (or possibly that ancient generals would not make very good DBA players!)

Yes, he has excellent material and I have been dipping in for the last couple of years too! The classic problem of not knowing if you are first to discover something ... or the last.
