The idea of this thread:
You've found a book that is so bad, you simply can't go on reading?
Then smash it into the trash can, here...
...like I do with Dirk Rossmann's The Ninth Arm of the Octopus (Be thankful and hope it will never be translated!)

I was checking out a free copy of "The Armour of Rommel's Afrika Korps" on Kindle and in the introduction is stated that the DAK used Pz35(t) and Pz 38(t). I never read a single page after that since all is suspect if something so basic is in error.

There is a reason it was free.

There is a reason it was free. Well TBH it is a "sample" through Kindle. Needless to say I didn't get the book.

Brandon Sanderson’s The Way of Kings. It’s supposed to be a modern classic. I’ve tried reading it twice and even tried to then listen to it on Audible and each time I just give up bored.

Conn Iggulden's 'Emperor' series - I did persevere with four books but the kindest thing I can say about this novelisation of Julius Caesar's life is 'Based on a true story'
If you get the chance to read this one - pass it up!
They are not books to be cast aside lightly - rather they should be hurled with considerable force!
Cheers

And while we are warning people off
"1421: The Year China Discovered the World" by Gavin Menzies - utter claptrap!
The only useful application of this book is to use it as a justification for the Ming Chinese to be listed enemies of all the American and Pacific army lists. (lets face it - if we can justify the Welsh as enemies for the Easter Forest American list then quoting Menzies and laying down the Ming is okay).
cheers

I'd like to add The Perilous Frontier by TJ Garfield...it's listed as a reference source for several Chinese Northern Border Armies for DBA 3.0....but it has very little in reference to most armies it is listed for and only gives a general overview at best.It doesn't discuss anything to do with arms armour, tactics or battle references. You are far better reading Soldiers of the Dragon by C.Peers.

My wife and I have a simple rule, give them a max of 50 pages; then off to Goodwill. (Napoleon of course just tossed them out his coach window)
