I remember this when it was originally on. I still have it on VHS somewhere I had a fair bit of “stuff” on VHS. However, with nothing to play ‘em on it seemed silly to hold onto the tapes. After about 5 years without a VHS player we just chucked them in the bin… Plenty of regret, sure - but it did free up an awful lot of space on the bookshelves. Cheers, Geoff

Cheers, Geoff I did the same, there was plenty of stuff on but mostly about the same battles..Hastings,Nasby,Marlborough,Waterloo and mostly done by David G.Chandler and Aryk(Lynette) Nusbacher. There was another series with Dan Snow and his father and they would drive up in a car and produce a pasting table and describe a battle, but I can't remember what it was called?

I think there was also a series where they got two groups of amateurs in and they used either the Total War computer game engine or something very similar to fight an historical battle.
I heard that a group of wargamers from the north west (I think) applied to go on the programme, but they were rejected because they were too good!

I remember that, they had Al Murray on it as he was a bit of a wargame fan. He was rubbish. They all were to be fair lol

Time Commanders was great. I will send in the Heavy Infantry through the swamp and the javelin skirmishers will hit the Roman legion head on.
