I have an army whose fast Bw elements are based 20x40 mm, and whose Sp elements are based 15 x 40mm. I deployed as follows:
Bw - Sp1
Sp2 - Sp3
Because Sp3 is immediately behind Sp1, its front left corner is 5mm ahead of the front right corner of Sp2. Is this, nevertheless, a group?

Yes, as long as there’s edge and corner contact somewhere on each element it works. Doesn’t have to be front corner, either…so a line of Cv 6Kn3Bw Sp with edge to edge and rear corners touching are a group, albeit a group with a wiggly front line.

Thank you Martin. RAW indeed. I had never read the rule properly because of making assumptions... Sometimes I wonder if anyone ever can read barkerese properly. What helped the most is stevie's valuable Detailed Rules Index For DBA 3.0, which I printed out and glued into my rulebook.
