OH that's clever! And beautiful 'Brian Boru'. You got me thinking could I use these with my 6mm WW2 tanks and figures bit like the original USA film version of War of The Worlds by HG Wells. mmmmmmm ? ? ? CarlL

The Flying Machine and the first Martian Fighting Machines are ready. The base to the right will be sea water. (This machine hunts the Thunderchild, you know.) The other bases are scorched earth.

Loverly. And the Cleric General is a good idea for magical protection…although a bit slow. Here’s a thought: how about a Mounted Hero General and two Paladin Fighting Machines. They’ll have protection from magic… They’ll have a combat factor of 6 each… They’ll be able to engage enemy Aerials… They'll terrify enemy Heroes (with their 'quick kill' & higher CF)... They’ll move fast at 500 paces… …and being mounted, they can pass through friendly foot as if flying or stepping over them.

Oh, one more thing… …Paladins are immune to shooting, and are only affected by being in contact. "Bullets and cannon shells just bounce off 'em sir!" (Heroes on the other hand hate Artillery and Cannon Batteries)

Very nice. And your suggestions inspire me to this idea: I could even form different army lists according to different waves of the Martian attack: First martian wave: Few machines, terrifying Paladins and scouts Second wave: Heroes, Cleric, Hunters and Scouts Third wave: Flying Machine, Airboats, Cleric, Hunters/Beasts and Scouts Fourth wave: Behemoths, Flyers ... Why? Bacteria start infecting them... "And as soon as they started feeding on us, they were doomed."

Ha! Now you’ve got ME thinking! Following my disaster at a recent HoTT tournament (caused by Martin with his Hero General + Paladin combo), I’ve been considering reforming my Martians. Perhaps a better order-of-battle would be the following:- 1 x Leader in a ‘Command Machine’ (Spear General @ 2 AP)…slow but strong 3 x Tripod Fighting Machines (Paladins! @ 12 AP)…fast and powerful 2 x Crawler Harvesters (Beasts or Warbands @ 4 AP)…for use in bad going …that leaves 6 AP left to spend on three other 2 AP Martian Machines (Knights? or Riders? more Beasts or Warbands? or Blades? plus a Flyer?)

Three Martian scouting machines (Fl) Smaller, but swifter than the much bigger Fighting Machines. They are unarmed (they don't carry the heavy heat ray devices), so their speed is their weapon...
