I am considering this period, roughly England in the late 12th or early 13th century (Ivanhoe is supposed to take place about 1194). Which list or lists best suits this era?
I had read elsewhere that the two factions would be virtually indistinguishable by this period so the same one should be used for both but I am not sure, and realistically I'm not against some subtle variation for sake of interesting games.

List IV/23 Feudal English covers the year date. TBH Ivanhoe is fiction, and not something one could easily pick two armies for… eg ’Saxon’ seems to have been used to cover ‘anti-government’ types in the book, more outlaws than army. Though one could no doubt create a game for this, it’s probably more the territory of Lion Rampant or Hott than DBA.

I seem to remember Pinner or the South London Warlords organising a “WRG at the movies” theme as part of their weekend tournaments. Robin Hood was a favourite.
