Is 2.2 the red-headed step child of DBA rule sets?

I have been wargaming longer than I care to mention but have seen the development of DBA from the ashes of the W.R.G. Ancient rules and must agree that DBA 3.0 is by far the better version of the rules to date.The transition time between the decision to update 2.2 to 3.0 was a bit of a roller coaster with some heated discussions leading sadly and inevitably to the split in the community.
However, I feel 3.0 evolved in the right way as there was so much input and discussion,testing and more discussion on the forum that resulted in a more realistic and playable set of rules.....yes it is almost impossible to create a set of rules that isnt without flaws and everyone has their own version on how the rules should or could be improved...that my fellow dice-dealers is the fruit for discussion and future developments....long may we play.đ
