Hi all I'm pleased to announce the following tournaments will form the provisional fixture list for the 2022/23 UK DBA league (TBC in parentheses): 12th November - Cold Ash Clash (Cold Ash, Berks) 14th January - PAWS Winter DBA (Fort Cumberland, Portsmouth) 28th January - Bakewell Winter Warmer (Bakewell, Derbyshire) 25th February - Mercian DBA; Theme - "It's all Greek to me" (Coventry) 4th March - DBA Northern Cup at Hammerhead Show (Newark) 11th March - Shieldwall (Slimbridge, Gloucestershire) 25th March - DBA at Steel Warrior Show (Sheffield) 15th April - Alton DBA (Alton, Hampshire) 20th May - PAWS Spring DBA (Fort Cumberland, Portsmouth) 10th June - Midland DBA Open (Bakewell, Derbyshire) 29th July - PAWS Summer DBA (Fort Cumberland, Portsmouth) 6th August - Thornbury DBA (Thornbury, Gloucestershire) 12th/13th August - DBA Two Day Convention @ Britcon (Nottingham) 30th September - Bakewell DBA Matched Pairs (Bakewell, Derbyshire) NOTE: This fixture list may well be amended as other tournaments are confirmed in due course, eg. PAWS Spring DBA, etc. The new scoring system will be in place and it's the sum of the player's best 5 tournament scores that will decide their final placing. The scoring for the 2022/23 season will be: - 1st (lowest) Tier: tournaments of 12 or fewer players (or teams)
1st – 15 points, 2nd – 12 points, 3rd – 10 points, 4th – 8 points, 5th down to 9th – 6 points down to 2 points, 10th and lower – 1 point.
- 2nd (middle) Tier: tournaments of more than 12 players (or teams) but fewer than 20
1st – 20 points, 2nd – 16 points, 3rd – 13 points, 4th – 10 points, 5th down to 11th – 8 points down to 2 points, 12th and lower – 1 point
- 3rd (highest) Tier: tournaments of 20 or more players or teams
1st – 25 points, 2nd – 21 points, 3rd – 18 points, 4th – 15 points, 5th down to 16th – 13 points down to 2 points, 17th and lower – 1 point

There are now a large number of tournaments in the UK, with Paul and Simon Wilson (Bakewell) contributing significantly to the total with North/Midland tourneys, plus the Portsmouth based PAWS games back on stream in the south. |

Dear Paul, I don't have much right to be "demandeur" - but as someone who has only made it to two tournaments so far, it would be interesting to know how many tournaments the other people in the table have under their belt, given the "best five" scoring rule.
Looking forward to seeing many friends in Bakewell next month,
