Hi all,
Hope 2023 has treated you well so far.
This message is to let you know of important changes for the 2022-2023 season and beyond.
Firstly, following feedback received, the ranking of tournaments within the scoring system will change slightly. The proposed change is that there will still be the 3 tiers with same scoring for each tier as before, but the notion of Premier Tournaments will be dropped. The highest scoring tier will now be for tournaments with 20 or more players. This gives us the 3 tiers as follows:
1st (lowest) Tier: tournaments of 12 or less players (or teams)
1st – 15 points, 2nd – 12 points, 3rd – 10 points, 4th – 8 points, 5th down to 9th – 6 points down to 2 points, 10th and lower – 1 point.
2nd (middle) Tier: tournaments of more than 12 players (or teams) but less than 20
1st – 20 points, 2nd – 16 points, 3rd – 13 points, 4th – 10 points, 5th down to 11th – 8 points down to 2 points, 12th and lower – 1 point
3rd (highest) Tier: tournaments of 20 or more players or teams
1st – 25 points, 2nd – 21 points, 3rd – 18 points, 4th – 15 points, 5th down to 16th – 13 points down to 2 points, 17th and lower – 1 point
This change will mean that November’s “Cold Ash Clash” gets retrospectively upgraded from a middle to a top tier tournament.
The second and more important change is that I will no longer be able to run the DBA League. A sudden change in my family situation means I won’t be able to devote much attention to DBA for the foreseeable future.
Paul Murgatroyd has agreed to take over with immediate effect and all results should be sent to him. He will also arrange for scores and results to be published somewhere more visible than the PAWS Website.
Please be patient while Paul gets to grips with his new role.
