I've been reading a book by a French woman (Elena Janvier) about living in Japan. In a section headed "Visigoths" she writes, "There is a way of peeling a mandarin in a single piece, perfectly reconstituting the form of the fruit with the peel. In fact, it is the only way. Once you've seen a Japanese person do this, you just feel like a barbarian."
I suspect this inability to peel a mandarin artistically extends to other Goths as well as Visigoths. My Goths are more focussed, when they get to Nottingham, on killing and ravaging. But in the practice games I have played they have lost every time. I wonder if BritCon includes a fruit arrangement event?

I suppose I really should get round to choosing some forces and not panic pack on Friday night. "Right you orrible little men, fully painted and based forces take two steps forward"

Four of my armies I already had, the fifth was a special new purchase for this competition. In practice games that army was running 0-6 - last night it finally won a battle. There is hope. Looking forward to the weekend!
