Happy to revisit the troop types for the Fast & Furious - let me look at this one and I’ll come back tomorrow on a decision… P I think your initial inclination to exclude Cm is probably the correct one. Mounted elements in good going have two maximum move distances, 3BW and 4BW, and camels are very definitely in the slow lane. Scythed Chariots, on the other hand, seem the very embodiment of Fast & Furious, but perhaps they only feature in armies which have to have other elements which are not allowed.* * I was wrong**. There is at least one, the Later Achaemenid Persian (II/7) - which is the only army I have which has a SCh in it. ** Wrong twice over. II/7 has one element where the choice is between a Kn and Solid foot.

OK, have thought this one through and happy to add LCm and SCh into the mix, as they are fast mounted, but not Cm (for the reasons Denis states). Will rework the theme definition above....

Yup he’s got the thracians! They're a Power Army, just ask Tom Whitehead 😝 P It was a real joy to play with Paul's wonderful Thracians. Admittedly they lost all six games (three times each commanded by me and my opponent). I've known stronger armies!!!

The BHGS team are now working full steam as we head toward our biggest event of the year Britcon (11-13th August) in it's new home in the middle of the UK's wargaming map, Nottingham Trent's University City Centre Campus. Britcon this year again features a host of one, two and three day events and competitions, including DBA for which there are 1 or 2 day event options available, with the opportunity to play in several different themes over the (long) weekend against DBA luminaries including : Ken Gordon Lee Storey Peter Davis Richard Pulley John Saunders Denis Grey Martin Smith IAN PAIN Tom Whitehead If you've not already signed up and are looking for any excuse to avoid doing DIY and/or gardening over this 4-day Easter weekend, why not book your Britcon ticket right now and start planning your army for the event? The link to sign up is at : www.bhgs.org.uk/britcon---how-to-enter.htmlEvery Britcon entry ticket again includes a £5 trader voucher and also a grab-bag lunch for each weekend day you are playing - saving you somewhere north of £15-25 in on-the-day outlay compared to many other events and venues on the UK wargaming circuit (and also meaning that "queuing for food" isn't going to eat into your gaming, shopping and socialising time at Britcon either!). The BHGS have also secured a complete block of student accommodation in University Halls, 5 minutes walk from the venue (and next to a Weatherspoons with late night opening) which you can book along with your gaming ticket - our allocation of rooms is already 50% sold out, so if you want to take advantage of this offer make sure to book soon before we run out of rooms. Whichever of our events you are planning on attending, we look forward to seeing you across the table later in the year. The BHGS Events Team www.bhgs.org.uk

Hi all A quick update on Britcon, with around 3 months to go: We currently have 11 entries for both days and 1 for Saturday only - Peter Davis Stephen Finn Ken Gordon Denis Grey Ian Pain Richard Pulley Tim Rogers John Saunders Martin Smith Baldie Tom Whitehead Lulu Spargo (Saturday Only) So, plenty of space for others to join in the fun - sign up here: redirect.viglink.com/?key=71fe2139a887ad501313cd8cce3053c5&subId=6530789&u=https%3A//www.bhgs.org.uk/britcon---how-to-enter.htmlThe organisers have added: "Our onsite student-priced B&B accommodation is filling up rapidly and with the "book 12-weeks out to get the best price rail tickets" window fast approaching (on the 19th May - worth reminding your players about!) now is the ideal time for players who haven't yet signed up to start planning their trip to Britcon 2023. As last year all competition and event tickets again include a "grab bag" lunch on each day your players are competing or taking part, as well as a £5 voucher to spend with any of our traders at the show - a unique bundle of benefits worth almost £25 included in the ticket price. Britcon is again being sponsored by Forged in Battle, and they (along with any others) will be providing prize support again this year. We will also be working again with the Nottingham Board & Wargames Club (and their new gaming centre) to support the event and run the Bring and Buy at the weekend tradeshow too. The Britcon Trade Show is looking set to be one of our biggest ever with a host of new traders including Ramshackle Games, Fforfreddie / Terra Firma, Pandyman Games, Athena Miniatures, Sarissa Precision, KR Multicase and Footsore Miniatures all joining our many returning traders - the updated list is available on our website for those of your players keen to start planning their shopping well in advance."Cheers Paul

Hi Paul, some questions:
- what scoring system for individual battles? - what scoring system for the 2-day event as a whole? simply the average score for the five events? - what scoring system for the DBA league? simply the rankings according to the last question?
Yours meditatively,
Paul
