Here's one how many lists have Staff-slinger elements listed as an option ? Well I know one: iv/38 Grenadine - because Iâve just been sorting figures for my next project.

Interestingly, Duncan Headâs âArmies of the Macedonian and Punic Warsâ mentions âstaffslingersâ (his figure 43), and were probably used by some Hellenistic Greeks, by the Romans to counter elephants, and heavy kestros and kestrosphendones sling-darts by the II/35 Later Macedonians. But sadly none of these made it into DBA 3.0.
Someone some time ago (was it Vic?) suggested treating Psiloi Staffslingers as if they were 3Bows⊠âŠthe speed, range and combat factors match each other quite well.

I was going to use some old glory ones but they are too big to go with the other foot. May try a conversion.

I wonder if there is an army with ALL of these elements:
Art, Cm, El, HCh, LCh, Pk, SCh, WWg (and some other ad lib)
And if not, which army comprises most of these units?

No, there is no army that has all three types of chariots, nor is there any army that includes LCh, HCh, or El with WWg.
II/7 Later Achaemenid Persian and II/30b Galatian 273-65 BC do let you have both LCh and SCh though. That classic hodge-podge, I/60b Cyropaedia, will let you have Cm, SCh, and WWg all together. And III/10b Rajput 747-1303 AD will let you play with your menagerie of both El and Cm. II/15 Alexandrian Imperial and II/16b Asiatic Early Successor (Demetrios) 315-285 BC let you have Art, El, and 4Pk. And there are several armies that include HCh, LCh, and Pk.

Can you get close with Allies?

Allies, yes there will surely be some possibilities...
But now another question concerning aggression and light units.
Is it always the fact that armies with a low aggression of 1 or 2 come with mostly light units?
Are there any exceptions? Do armies of high aggression exist that are really crap?
And the other way: Are there splendid or strong armies of low aggression?

Kings of crap! Any other, or mighty ones of low aggression?

Actually Brian, there are quite a few weak armies with high aggression (far too many I thinkâŠbut then again, I didnât write the army lists).
I have found the following:- I/4c Hurrians & Kassites (H3) with 5 x Ax & 6 x Ps I/6a Early Bedouins (D3) with 6 x Ax & 3 x Ps I/6b Midiantites & Arabs (D3) with 4 x Ax & 3 x PsâŠyes they can have 5 x Cm, but the DunesâŠ? I/6c Early Aramaeans (D3) with 6 x Ax & 3 x Ps I/7b Early Libyans (D4!) with 3 x Ax & 5 x Ps I/14b Bronze Age Europe (A3) with 6 x Ax & 2 x Ps I/14f Red Ti Chinese (A3) with 2 x Ps & 5 x Hd I/27+34 Hebrews (H3) with 5/6/7 x Ax & 2/3 x Ps I/35b Sardinians (H3) with 8 x Ax I/36a Samnites & Umbrians (H3) with 10 x Ax & 1 x Ps I/39ab Urartians (H3) with 9/10 x 3Ax/Ps & 1 x compulsory Hd I/47 Illyrians (H3) with 9 x Ax & 2 x Ps I/63 Paionians (H3) with 8 x Ax/Ps & 2 x PsâŠas mentioned by Les1964 above II/21ab Châiang Chinese (H3) with 7 x Ax & 3 x Bow/Ps II/54a Irish & Scots (L3) with 6 x Ax & 2 x PsâŠthese are Littoral, but rarely get to place a Waterway III/20b Sui Chinese (A3) with 2 x Bow/Ps & and 6 (!) x Hd III/41a Proto-Toltecs & Aztecs (D3) with 8 x Ax/Ps & 1 x Ps IV/5 Medieval Sicilians (L3) with œ their army Ax or PsâŠLittoral, yes, but will they get a Waterway? IV/60 Catalan Company (A4!) with 6 x Ax & 1 x Ax/Ps/HdâŠbut becomes A2 after 1330 AD IV/63 Later Aztecs (A3) with 6 x Ax/Hd & 2 x Ps IV/71a Chimu Imperial (D3) with 6 x Ax & 3 x Ps
And then there are all the wimpy Light Horse armies with high aggression:- I/43ab Kimmerians & Sythians (S4!) with 8 to 11 x LH III/11b Other Turks (S3) with 8 x LHâŠunless you want to swap 2 x LH for useless Hd III/30ab Magyars (S3) with 7 to 10 x LH III/80 Cuman-Kipchaks (S3) with at least 7 x LH (and the IV/35-52 Mongols are quite aggressive but look pretty weak)
All the above can potentially be the defenders fighting in their home territory, but will usually find themselves as the invaders on a totally unsuitable battlefield... ...a flat open billiard table with nowhere to hide from the enemy Kn and heavy foot, or, if a LH army, then having to fight on a table covered with loads of bad going.
Still, if you want a powerful army, with low aggression, lots of choices, and Littoral, then the II/25 Bosporans are quite popular.

Wow, stevie, that looks quite comprehensive!
So, if every one of these has 3, 4 or five enemys, this means that about 20% of all games are affected by this problem!
Future DBA really should do something for lighter units, like discussed in many other threads.
And maybe it should be mostly minor changes (elegant ones), from terrain placement to adding some bonuses for LH and Ax or different outcome moves ...

...oh, die meisten Armeen in Stievies Liste sind meine Favoriten. Ich bevorzuge auch die Azteken, aber ich denke, Azteken sind tatsĂ€chlich eine aggressive Armee und mĂŒssen angreifend sein ...
