I was looking at different 8Bw armies....EAP, Han Chinese, Book 3 army 7
I was also thinking of the rule regarding Bw getting support from solid Bd
Just curious...is there an 8Bw army that also has solid Bd?

Although mentioned by others, here is the complete list:-
8Bw with side-supporting "Solid" Bd:- III/20c T’ang Chinese (has allied 4Bd) (3 x 8Bw) III/62a Northern Sung Chinese (4 x 8Cb) III/65 Nikephorian Byzantines (4 x 8Bw) III/73b Communal Italians (has a CWg) (2 x 8Cb) III/76 Konstantine Byzantines (has a CP) (1 x 8Bw) IV/5c Sicilians (has allied 4Bd) (1 x 8Cb) IV/48 Yuan Chinese (1 x 8Bw) IV/61 Italian Condotta (has allied 4Bd) (2 x 8Cb) IV/66 Later Polish (has allied 4Bd) (2 x 8Cb) IV/85a Burgundian Ordannance (2 x 8Lb)

As others have said, Burgundian Ordannance. I've been playing it lately.....a brilliant little army. Surprisingly tough considering it has 8 shooters.....the 8Lb with a combat factor of 4 against foot is brilliant. And when the 2 Art work...they really work!!

And when the 2 Art work...they really work!! Until it doesn't. Be sure to try games against Later Swiss. If the Swiss can get thru all the missile fire and get stuck in against the Burgundians, it's usually lights-out very quickly for the Burgundians. Fun games either way.

Although mentioned by others, here is the complete list:- 8Bw with side-supporting "Solid" Bd:-III/20c T’ang Chinese (has allied 4Bd) (3 x 8Bw) III/62a Northern Sung Chinese (4 x 8Cb) III/65 Nikephorian Byzantines (4 x 8Bw) III/73b Communal Italians (has a CWg) (2 x 8Cb) III/76 Konstantine Byzantines (has a CP) (1 x 8Bw) IV/5c Sicilians (has allied 4Bd) (1 x 8Cb) IV/48 Yuan Chinese (1 x 8Bw) IV/61 Italian Condotta (has allied 4Bd) (2 x 8Cb) IV/66 Later Polish (has allied 4Bd) (2 x 8Cb) IV/85a Burgundian Ordannance (2 x 8Lb) Stevie, does the Communal Italians' CWg give the same benefit as 4Bd? Because there are no 4Bd in their list. Alternatively, I cannot find the sentence in the rules that states a CWg is the equivalent of 4Bd. Mind you, my knowledge is not as detailed as yours and I only had a quick look.

I checked flank support, combat factors and the CWg definition - of course it wasn't there! "These things are considered Bd" is in the Bd definition, rather than the "these things" definition. <shakes head>

An interesting question Pawsbill. Here is what I’ve found (but there may be others):- Armies that are limited due to Ally rules (see page 31 "Allied Contingents"):-III/9b Burmese (with a IV/48 Yuan Chinese 4Bd + 8Bw ally...but can't have both) III/21b Lombards (with a III/65 Nikephorian Byzantine 4Bd + 8Bw ally...but can't have both) III/33 Early Muslims (with a III/65 Nikephorian Byzantine 4Bd + 8Bw ally...but can't have both) III/51 Bagratid Armenians (with a III/65 Nikephorian Byzantine 4Bd + 8Bw ally...but can't have both) III/57 Koryo Koreans (with a IV/48 Yuan Chinese 4Bd + 8Bw ally...but can't have both) Armies With Access To “Solid” Bd and 8Bw AlliesII/76 Koguryo Korean 4Bd (with a III/7b Pre-Samurai 8Bw ally) III/36 Nan-chao 4Bd (with a III/20c T’ang Chinese 8Bw ally) III/77 Papal Italian Lit/4Bd (with a III/76 Konstantine Byzantine CP + 8Bw ally, or with a IV/5c Sicilian 8Cb ally) IV/4b Feudal French 4Bd (with a III/73b Communal Italian CWg + 8Cb ally) IV/43c Hungarian 4Bd (with a IV/66 Polish 8Cb ally) IV/62c HYW English 4Bd (with a IV/68c Medieval Spanish 8Cb ally) IV/69 Albanian 4Bd (with a IV/61 Italian Condotta 8Cb ally) IV/82a French Ordonnance 4Bd (with a IV/61 Italian Condotta 8Cb ally) (A note about the items above in Blue. It’s seems a bit odd that a mighty Emperor or a treasured icon would meekly submit themselves to just leading a small detachment under the leadership of someone else…in reality their ego and prestige would insist that THEY THEMSELVES were in command!
However, DBA 3.0 (probably as an oversight) allows Command Elements such as CP, Lit and CWg to be part of an allied contingent.
Fortunately, the two blue armies above have their own alternative “Solid” Bd, and this is more realistic)
