...lots of food for thought ...but on the other hand means...less time for games... ...for me TT means; playing a tournament with many other players, or playing a certain epoch with another player, or practicing or improving certain tactics, but not comparing mathematical probabilities on different lists...

Yep, vodnik, you're absolutely right concerning hot battle actions and tactics. Up to now I have been lucky and I never encountered one of those players who calculate the odds of every of their movements. (They exist, and they are apt to ruin every game experience.) And yet, now with this tool I can rate my armies (and enemies) more easily. Concerning my favourite armies (see above) the picture now is clear as day. The highest possible ranking or value is: 562. III/46 Norse Irish. Value: 38 – crap (you must be devilishly clever and daring to take your chance on the battlefield) III/40b Norse Viking. Value: 516 – exceptionally good (with the right tactics you may even win against better armies) So, you may easily leave this number crunching to those who are (maybe kind of philosophically) interested in the beautiful mechanics of the game... ...and enjoy your battles by thinking like Themistocles.

...I don't know the man you mentioned, but I'm sure he never played DBA. But since I'm playing a version in which the winning conditions were still acceptable, I don't need the formulas mentioned. However, I feel free using version 3 army lists as well...

However, I feel free using version 3 army lists as well... Oh I know the person Brian is referring too…and he is called Stevie. And he has certainly played all the various versions of DBA. But he has found that all his mathematical calculations matter little when his opponent has more luck or better battlefield tactics…
