(We Brits can be weird at times…but it’s fun to be weird. ) I will never forget the day we were all sitting in pub for lunch at a bakewell do, discussions were held on Alexander actually crossing a contested river with a phalanx. Also how did river rules for DBA marry up with this vision. Few pints had and as I looked around I swear the tourists all round us were thinking what an interesting and well balanced bunch we were.

Steampunk became the inspiration for the Melnibonean Elves of the 18th century.

The only "Steampunk" I ever knew was a rotund, vertically challenged man who wore greasy blue overalls with an equally greasy rag sticking out of his pocket. A greasy mustache topped by a black greasy hat of indeterminate origin. Whole figure finished off with a pipe of foul smelling tobacco and an oil can clenched in his right fist. This vision of industry never stopped blathering on about his bloody Traction Engine. He was most definitely a "SteamPunk"

Great link to some great photos, Stevie. Just had a Steampunk weekend in Whitby, along with Goth weekends in Whitby its very fashionable. And reminds me of the 28mm Victorian alternative history figures, on lines of HG Wells and Jules Verne books as "history" to be gamed!! CarlL

Slave trading in other Goth camps. Sounds great
