Men,
After a several year hiatus, I am back to play one of my favorite games, with P&S period being one of my favorites.
When I left to pursue less hostile environments, there were two great P&S supplements; the Humberside Extension and DBA-RRR. Now I can’t seem to find any 3.0 versions, except the HX starting at 1700, which obviously excludes the 1600’s, (TYW, ECW, GNW), my favorite period, and nary a whiff of RRR.
Where have they gone? Was there some sort of legal issue? I hope not.
I suppose I could use the old lists and try to figure out on my own which elements are ‘solid’ and which are ‘fast’ but I would prefer not to. (I can’t imagine any pike elements being classified as ‘fast’ but I’m no expert.)
Any other 3.0 issues which need addressed when moving into this period?
Thanks, it’s good to be back,
Steve

RRR and HX were written specifically to ‘convert’ v2.2 of DBA to later periods. When v3 arrived there were quite a few significant changes from 2.2 which meant the RRR and HX were no longer directly compatible. No legal issues (that I’m aware of), but also no intent on the part of the writers of the respective variants to go back through the process to produce compatible versions. Pete D. at the Coventry Scimitars has produced an ECW variant of v3 called DBA-TR (Tres Regna) which works well….can be found in the DBA facebook files or in groups.io DBAlist files.

Thanks, it’s good to be back, Steve Welcome back Steve, A supplement has been added to DBA-HX3 to bring the start date to 1660/1670. This would cover the wars of Louis XIII up to 1700. The additional army lists also include the colonial wars. Send an email to timurilank (at) aol (dot) com and place DBA-HX 3.0 supplement in the subject line and I will send the supplement to you. Follow the link to the last game played with the supplement. 18thcenturysojourn.blogspot.com/2019/11/france-vs-hapsburg-dba-hx3.html

Hi Timurilank,
Thank you for sending it to me as well!
I had one query. In a couple of places it mentions Jäger. I am guessing these references are left over from a previous revision. Should they just be ignored or swapped out for a different troop type?
Best, EG
