Fortunately the one thing I really don't need is more 15mm Greeks.

some people on FB test them, seem that for Hoplites (shield and spear are separated as usual) it is quite good, same quality, maybe hard to clean up but it seem the Hoplites are quite good for that. painting soft plastic is maybe harder and paint is often more fragile. also plastic ones are maybe as harder as metal ones for adding holes to hoplites hands (hard to do holes in soft plastic so... this must be cut with care? maybe the only interest is the price, but, you have to buy a buch of hoplites (enough to do several dba armies) so not sure it's interesting at the end for DBA. (Box contents: 1 x mounted general, 8 x foot command (assorted mix of poses), 72 x hoplites (assorted mix of poses), 6 x cavalry (assorted mix of poses), 12 x peltasts (assorted mix of poses) (and yes i already have a lot of xyston metal hoplites so.. )

This looks near perfect for two opposing Hoplite armies 😊

They look good but not sure that they are as cost effective as they seem. If your aim was to produce one Greek Army - say Athenians for sake of argument then this pack has way more than you need plus doesn’t have specials such as sailors, peltasts and bow. So you are putting in an order to Xyston for those anyway. Even if you go more generic then without spears you are still putting in an order to Xyston for their wire ones. Hence this is not a one stop shop.
Plus this only covers generic hoplites - if you want Spartans, Thebans, the extra cavalry for Thessalians or enough Psloi to do Aitolians then you are going to Xyston again.
So given you are going to have to go to Xyston anyway and they ARE a one stop shop you’d be no worse off going direct to them when you’ll get metal with more “heft.”
That said they do look good and if I didn’t already have 3 Greek armies I may be tempted.

As for spears . www.theplasticsoldiercompany.co.uk/product/50-x-50mm-wire-spears/

I like a heavy feeling in hand, i just made the calculation this ultracast figure are not in metal but prices are , the packed figure you show is 0,37 £ per figure ( im honest i count cavalry as double) in an other hand the nice Z range from Museum is 0,41£ lets says it like that : same price for minis but in my opinion not same value. in addition they sell you plastic figure without the spear. Qrf/Freikorp are even cheaper 0,34£ and figure are very nice too.

I'll stick with my metal Xystons in that case (and check out Freikorp and Museum as well), just need to buy another army box or so. For Spartas and Thebans, what I did was use the more "generic" hoplites, but then had 2 bases or so of "specialist" troops (Spartans, Deep Thebans), and that way it's obvious which army this is, but they could be morphed easily. From what I understand the only a percentage of the army for Spartans and Thebans generally weren't the Spartiates and Thebans anyway, so it should work out.

Museum Hoplite are great especially for shield wall. Freikorp mix well with MM too there hoplites look hellenistic or late greek when museum look more classical , Freikop cavalry unit are tremendous, they offer à nice range of crested helmet cavalry, thouht you have to ad spear on some ref.
