I noticed on steam that Tabletop Simulator has a DBA module. Has anyone used it?

It looks good. We have used Tabletop Simulator for Volley & Bayonet and Command Decision Test of Battle. Both work well. I would imagine that the DBA module would work just as well. I hope we can test it in the next month or so. We are currently finishing up a CD/TOB game.

I have looked at Tabletop Simulator and I have been very tempted to get it.
But being a bit of a technophobe I probably would not get the best from it.

don't hesitate to ask question about that TTS module, i'm part of the project, mainly graphics and 3d photogrammetry, for the small story at the beginning, spanish creators start with DBA 2.2 only, i done my best to convince them to do also a 3.0 one! so i help to do the flat bases, some terrain parts and try to scan my own armies to have them in 3d and replace the flat base. i have lot of fun to do that, it takes quite lot of time to do so for now there is only a few armies in 3d... a good way to play with friends during this complicated period! i'm sure that we could organise something interesting, like international tournaments for example!

Would you be interested in a training session on how to use the TTS module and how to play DBA?

I should really have a look, even playing by Skype seems a little out of date. Er indoors says I am not allowed to go to Jancos at mo and farm road club is off as it is a workingmans club.
As far as I know still ok for someone to come round house for a game, pity it is getting too cold and damp for outside.
Oh for the simple Joy's of the meadway centre and free brownies.

As far as I know still ok for someone to come round house for a game, pity it is getting too cold and damp for outside. Officially not, if you plan to play indoors. S.Yorks is currently in Tier 2 which means: "You must not meet socially with friends and family indoors in any setting unless you live with them or have formed a support bubble with them. This includes private homes, and any other indoor venues such as pubs and restaurants." Interestingly there is no mention of people other than friends and family, so whether you'd class a DBA opponent as a "friend or family" is an interesting point! There is an exception for people "volunteering to provide voluntary or charitable services", so maybe you could claim that allowing your opponent to trample all over your army was a charitable service?! There is also and exception for "supervised activities provided for children" so looks like you can play DBA against the kids but not adults! Seems to me that it's not just Phil Barker et al that have difficulty writing rules that don't have some loopholes in them!

I refer my learned friend to mention of outside
I class all DBA players as friends and family.
I am pretty ambivalent to friends and family of course.

I think if bluestone28 would be willing to help get those interested up and going, I think it could be a lot of fun to have a Tabletop simulator tournament. We could try and pick a time that is "somewhat" convenient for every one and have our own convention!

yeah of course! i will list here the area to get information (but of course, i could try to answer to your questions too! ) facebook page : www.facebook.com/groups/195413378421944(Arkein is the admin and one of the creators) Discord area (main discussion group about the TTS DBA modules) : discord.gg/z2zsq9DBA Tabletop Simulator - How to Start Playing : www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbB-OZ0Le0Y&ab_channel=ArkeinGuardianow about a training session yes i can organise that, but it's not so hard to install it! : first part is to install steam, do a steam account, buy Tabletop simulator (quite cheap if i remember) and in steam, search in Tabletop simulator workshop with 'DBA', you will find the different modules (2.2 and 3.0) subscribe to the one you want, you don't need to get anything else (armies are loaded inside the modules), normally, run TTS, go to your workshop inside it, you'll find DBA module, after it's a TTS setting to set a game room... for now, Spanish guys already organised some tournament, and i currently play a Gallic vs Roman campaign with a friend, sometimes in real and sometimes in TTS... in tts you have some physics on game parts, so you have to throw the dices on the table! Hi @everyone! Big update today : - Roads and Waterways now snap to the edges of the tables, so no more finicking with the F8 Gizmo to put them precisely. - Redo functionality: Complementary to the Undo move, this allows you to go forward. - Dead counter: Place the dead bases on the Losses are of your color and they will be counted on the bottom. This means that if you share an screenshot of the battlefield you also show how is the battle going. - When spawning a new table, it changes the bases of all already spawned armies with minis so the base terrain matches with the new table. - Random army command: Write "!dba_random_army" on the chat and it will generate a random army (it won't spawn army in case you want to roll multiple times). - Improved forests, including a new tree model. The forest now have more or less trees depending on the type of terrain (so forest and tropical have more than dry or mountain). - Fixed erratas and/or errors on (special thanks to @elmasmalo): DBA2.2: I/32a, II/83b, III/17, III/27, III/29 DBA3.0: III/77, IV/4b, IV/5b, IV/7, IV/10, IV/13e, IV/16, IV/4a, IV/24b, IV/33, IV/37c, IV/37d, IV/38, IV/39a, IV/39b, IV/39c, IV/42, IV/44, IV/45, IV/48, IV/49, IV/52, IV/55b, IV/59b, IV/64c, IV/68a, IV/69, IV/74, IV/73b, IV/76, IV/78, IV/83c Many of them arise from a confusion with "/" option in DBA3, which means that there are armies that are effected on the other books and will be fixed on the following updates. Another important news is that the mod has been moved on the workshop. Since only Arkein could upload and due to COVID it was difficult for us too coordinates updates, I have uploaded the new version from my Steam workshop, where the mod will continue to be updates. Everything will still be the same, same authors and stuff, just from a different URL. The new version can be downloaded here: DBA2.2: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2256087587DBA3.0: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2255983207Furtheremore Arkein has uploaded the old mod with a version that has a screen in both english and spanish saying how to get the new version in case you aren't using the new links. Thanks all for your patience. If you have any question, error, bug, or feedback, just tell us

Both mods (2.2 and 3.0) updated! This new version contains: - Hyksos armies, I/17a and I/17b, Egyptian I/22 armies, - Improved the dead counter. In DBA3, it will ignore both hordes and scythed chariots, the first double elements counts as two, as well as the general. In DBA2, only the scythed chariot is ignored. - (DBA2) Added the improvements for dice and turning around and pushing of the previous update for DBA3. - lot of armies "on the grill", Gallic, Macedonians, Campanians, Sea people... enjoy!

arf understand, i am in between the 2 worlds or in french "avoir le cul entre 2 chaises!", i love painting and making scenery (especially in 15mm scale) and playing in "real" with my friend around a table and a good beer, and in the same time i worked in video games industry and play a lot of games (but mainly simulation ones)... so i would say that we tried to get the best of the 2 worlds! But of course, i still prefer to play with my real minis (after all, i took me too much time to paint it!)
