As most Germanic people left their pasture & migrated to south europe Slavic groups entered that woods & marshes from what is now eastern Poland. There was a broad border river called Elbe. On the north shore & also in Sleswig Holstein lived the Abodrites & Wagri. Small groups entered Danmark. This did happen before the Viking list started. 737 Raid against the Danevirke: 3/40c Leidang: 3x4bd(Gen), 6x3ax, 2x2ps, 1x7hd 3/1a( 3b list starts later) Wagri: 2x3cv(Gen), 7x3ax, 1x3bd, 2x2ps

Charlemagne's Saxon wars 772-804 ...to establish a Frankish empire on a territory what is now Germany Charlemagne had to subdue the old Saxons in northern Germany. But there were more acters in that game. The Danes & 2 rivalling Slavic tribes: the Abodrites suporting Charlemagne & the Wiltzi suporting pagan Saxons: 2/73 Old Saxon 250–804 forest Ag:2: 11x4wb(gen), 1xps 3/28 Carolingian Frankish 639-888 arable Ag:3: 3xkn(Gen), 2x3kn or 4bd, 1x3cv, 4x4sp, 2xps 3/4c Leidang 790-1070 littoral Ag:1: 3x4bd(Gen), 6x3ax, 2xps, 1x3bd 3/1a Abodrites, torest Ag:1: 3x3cv(G), 7x3ax, 2x2ps 3/1a Wilzi, torest Ag:1: 3x3cv(G), 7x3ax, 2x2ps It could be a good idea to fight the DBA battle: The Saxons with 2 armies & the Wilzi as allies. Charlemagne with 2 armies & the allied Abodrites. Alternatively you can use on the Saxon side; Saxons, Leidang and the Slavs. The problem is; Abodrites facing Wilzi will forget the big battle but try to kill as many as possible of rivaling Slaws...

...there are the southern Slavs living in Croatia & Serbia. Both tribes were ordered by a byzantine ruler to protect the country against the Avars. As a bohemian i can understand the serbockoatian language prety good as it is a Slav language. But both Serbs & Croats seems to be Sarmatians in origin. The slavic origin could be white Croatia in southeastern Poland. The Serbs could be a similar tribe as the Sorbs living now in eastern Germany. So both armies can fight against the Avars. There are notes that the Croats faught as allies with Carlemagne in former Pannonia...
