In 2.2 an over lapping element with no enemy element to its front could "Close the Door" by swinging round onto the enemy flank. As long as such a move did not cross another enemy zone of control etc.

I can find no reference to it in 3.0, or perhaps I am not looking in the correct place.

Are you perhaps remembering the special rule needed in 2.2 for slow moving elements to move to the flank?

That is no longer needed in 3.0. 2BWs is now more than sufficient to "close the door".

Because of this we removed the special rule.

Please note that in 3.0, elements moving 1BW in the bad going and elsewhere don't have the movement to move from front to flank in one move. This is by design.
