I have been browsing possible future projects and am quite taken with the thought of a Khazar army. This has the option of a CWg General, which is a fairly rare troop type and not one with which I am familiar, so I thought I'd refresh my memory of how these operate.
Looking at the close combat outcomes, I see that CWg are destroyed on a tie against foot if they have a second enemy element in front edge contact with them. So far, so clear. Then my eye fell on the line above which says Fast Foot recoil from Solid Foot in the event of a tie. Now a CWg is a Solid Foot element, so what happens if......a CWg is in close combat with an element of Fast Foot, say 3 Bd or 3Pk, and has another enemy element in front edge contact with its side edge and the scores are tied.
I assume the Cwg is destroyed, but does the 3Bd/Pk pursue or does it recoil? (Or, for the sake of completeness, does it recoil and then pursue thus ending up where it started?) And what happens with the other enemy element? Does it recoil or stay where it is? I can't see where this is covered, which is not to say the rules are "broken" - frankly I don't suppose the situation will arise all that often - but I do wonder. So I thought I'd ask.

I would go with the blade following up/ pursuing a destroyed opponent.... Probably wrong but good question Craig

I assume the Cwg is destroyed, but does the 3Bd/Pk pursue or does it recoil? I would say they pursue, but not recoil. The FAQ says:- Elephant Recoil: Q: Does an elephant that is contacted both to the front and also to the flank or rear by enemy front edges (i.e. it is “flanked” or “reared”), recoil and destroy the elements behind it? A: No. Elephants that receive a recoil result with enemy in front edge contact to both their front and to their flank or rear are destroyed instead of recoiling. This is the same as all other elements. In other words, destroyed elements simply aren’t there any more to cause a recoil... ...they are dead, they are no more, they’re pushing up the daisies, they’re a late element, the figures would all be laying on their backs if they weren’t glued to their bases, they are an ex-element... As the last sentence of Combat Outcomes on page 11 says:- “A supporting element in close combat against an enemy element’s flank or rear recoils if the friendly element in combat with that enemy’s front recoils, flees or is destroyed (see figure 19c).”
Well, you can’t recoil from an element that is no longer there...but destroying such an enemy will still cause pursuit.

I would agree with Stevie.
