Hello everyone
I am new to the game or at least new to playing with people. I started during the lock down playing against myself.
I have now had a few games against my regular wargaming buddies and a few questions have pooped up.
Push back. This is important because if you can’t push back your friends you end up dead, but who can push back who. There is a section on page 14, but I can’t find anything useful in it.
Can you recoil into a group? Is it possible to recoil into line with friend for tactical support and potential group move next turn or do you need to spend a turn moving into a group. It just seems wrong that you can get recoiled into a tactical formation.
Is terrain really 9 bw even if you use 60 mm? That is some big terrain pieces! Potentially 300X240 mm?
Last question: Is the commandrange of light horse really 20 bw? With 60 mm bw that’s the entire board! Tonight our light horse totally ran rings around everyone. I just want to make sure we got it right
Hope that not too many questions in one go
Cheers
Erik

If you're gaming 28mm you should be using a bigger board: 900mm-1200mm square. As for terrain: 9BW LxW As for recoil, Purple, pg9: "INTERPENETRATING FRIENDLY TROOPS If making a tactical move, or fleeing, mounted troops can always pass through Psiloi and Psiloi pass through any friends, but in both cases only if there is sufficient clear space beyond and enough move to occupy it, and either (a) it starts at least partly directly in front and ends the move lined-up behind or (b) starts directly behind and ends the move lined-up in front. Recoilers can pass through friends facing in exactly the same direction to a clear space immediately behind the first element met, but only if either (a) mounted troops recoiling into any friends except Pikes, Hordes or Elephants, (b) Blades recoiling into Blades or Spears, (c) Pikes or Bows recoiling into Blades, or (d) Psiloi recoiling into any friends except Psiloi."
20BW for LH if element/group is exclusively LH ( otherwise 8BW with clear LOS or 4 BW if not clear LOS). You still have to allocate Pips though.

Thank you for the replies.
I gather from your replies that its not so much about push back as it is about interpenetration.
I like the unit sheets a lot. I will definitely print those for my self.
I can see that the command range for light cavalry is correct. That means that you really have to look out for your camp. With multible moves those guys can easily reach your back line if you are not careful.
Thanks again
