maybe it's not a new idea, but what do you think of having some objective cards for Attacker, at the beginning of the battle the attacker will take one objective card from a objective cards deck, that he must realise before the end of the battle (or maybe just get some bonus pts?) like - kill the ennemy general, - take the enemy camp, - kill n mounted ennemy... - kill all Bow... - Kill all Elephants... - take the BUA (if exist) - and so on... it was the 2 cents idea of the saturday night (fever)

Sounds a good idea for some friendly games.
I know DBA automatically has an objective but I often like a game with objecives/missions.
FOW played as a even fight for e.g. is nowhere near as good a game in my opinion as doing a mission.
Of course my ultimate objective in a game is trying not to cry as much as my enemy.

Nothing at all wrong with doing such IMO, (though it does have a whiff of the current GW style of game construction)

I had a similar thought about randomly determining the strategic position (e.g. undersupplied, reinforcements en route, etc) to try and simulate what may happen in a campaign. I was toying with cards or two dice to get a bell curve. Never did go through with it but it may add some more layers to the line'em up and knock'em down standard.
Cheers

in fact i think part of my Mind remember RISK game! The game that makes any group of teenage chums realise no one is to be trusted and it is often best to do the back stabbing first.
