Fantastic looking figures.
You are tempting me to now group my Wars of the Roses collection of 20mm figures into retinues. Been lazy so far, they are all generic. But that does make it easier to swap elements from York to Lancaster and vice versa.

Have to say that I have been working in a similar vein Cromwell - generic figures until I can get enough painted to start doing liveries.

Look brilliant, are they metal bases set atop magnets? For the flocking, it seems you've used sand painted brown then some nifty tufts. Great stuff and very vibrant.

From the linked article:
The sand hasn't been painted only dry brushed with a cheap taupe acrylic before adding tufts, flowers and some very fine foam scatter.
Hope that helps.

Latest blog post 15 mm Wars of the Roses Archer Command This is the first part of my mini-rebasing project. In addition to rebasing I have repainted the faces and most of the legs and shoes as they were damaged during removal from the original bases. Wherever possible I kept as much of the original paintwork as I could; it's over twenty years old after all.
cool stuff 😎 P

I have been re-painting my 20mm War of the Roses Collection.
I have given each of my blades a flag bearing the device of a noble and then painted an element of bows in that nobles livery. Looks good and gives my batles a more historical feel.
