I know this has been answered but, do plowed fields count as separate terrain pieces when rolling to put them out? Ie could the plowed fields end up in different quadrants or do I roll separately for each?
When determining maximum number of terrain types, do plowed fields count as 2 or 1 pieces?

If you mean arable compulsory.
I believe and play that the 2 plough are placed separately, you also choose 2 or 3 additional terrain pieces so could end up with 5 pieces of terrain. The 2 plough count as 2 pieces so you can only choose 1 more plough.
I stand by to be shot down in flames.

Hi there Is it also the case that, if you select two pieces of plough as your compulsory choice, you have to select from your non-compulsory choices at least one piece of terrain that is always going to be bad or rough going? This on the basis that plough is good going for the purposes of selecting terrain. I think that is right - but always better to seek wise counsel. Thanks

Correct you have to choose one piece that is bad or rough, you may not ever get to place but have to have it as a choice.

Everyone loves a nice river as well.
