In an attempt to embellish the General's heavy chariot for my Urartian army, I wanted to make the little bird on this banner painted gold.
I used the Deco Art Dazzling Metallics Bright Brass, and really like the look of it.
I know the picture is blurry, but I hope you can get a sense of the look of the colour.
It reminds me of certain gold artifacts that are found that do not have that super shiny polished look to them, if you know what I mean.
Anyway, just thought I would share if anyone is looking for that kind of gold effect.

Nice. Do you a pic of the finished chariot, so we can appreciate the final flourish? It’s the details like that that really make painting worth it!

I really need to get a small manual drill, because at the moment I have glued a rod to the banner thing four times and it keeps falling off. I should expect this, as the surface area binding the rod to the banner is the diameter of the rod, and that is very little surface area.
I painted up a little design on the banner last night, and as I finished and popped the banner down, off came the rod.
At the very least I can re-glue it and take a pic for you before it comes apart again

OK greedo, I decided to scrap trying to glue the rod to the banner and instead went with a BBQ skewer. I wittled down the middle leaving the ends flared out giving me much more surface area to glue with.
I am not satisfied with the design I did, and perhaps I should have settled on something easier for me.
With the pic I provided, you probably need to magnify it to get an idea of the gold effect that the brass has on the bird.

Looks intimidating from here! Love the look. design looks lovely. Back in my warhammer fantasy days, my fav part was designing the shields for my savage orcs, and bretonnian knights. I even had a “knight of the cow” who was black and white dairy style

You have convinced me not to paint over the design then
I am about to start painting up another army (Kushites!), and I think for fun and a nod to you, I will paint up the shields for one of the spears in proper cow fashion!
