Probably been discussed before Or its probably bleeding obvious in the rules But...
!) Psiloi cannot be overlapped UNLESS the overlapping element is physically in contact with the Psiloi flank? (not front corner)
2) Solid foot flank support Spears blades and bows - is it plus 1 per supporting flank regardless as to whether or not the supporting element is shooting or fighting?. In addition might the enemy also get the minus for being flanked?
I envisage spears with two friends being at plus six, Blades at plus 7 and what about double based elements?

Blades don't get side support.
Spear get side support if "at least one flank edge is in mutual side edge and mutual front corner contact with a friendly element [of Spears or solid Blades]." That's +1 if this applies; not +1 for each side it applies to. The enemy also gets the -1 penalty if it is overlapped.
So for a line of 3 elements of Sp in combat with a Bd which is in contact with the middle Sp the factors are: Sp basic 4 + 1 for support = 5 v Bd basic 5 against foot - 2 for double overlap = 3.
I believe double based elements count side support where applicable as well as the +1 bonus for being double-based. So the Theban General with side support would be 7 plus the die roll when fighting enemy foot and entirely in good going.

Just a quick addition...
1. Psiloi and Scythed Chariots are not overlapped by corner to corner contact. Side to Side contact does count as overlap....
So, yes... you are correct.
2. This is for close combat only... not shooting.
I hope this helps.

Makes you wonder why Philip II of Macedon (one of the true visionaries of Ancient Warfare) saw this deep Theban formation that gave +4, +1 vs foot and +1 for side support and improved upon it to create the 4Pk formation which is +3, +3 for rear support and so takes 2 elements to do what the Thebans achieved in one......but that’s been discussed before.

Paddy Time for it to be discussed again perhaps. The only logical explanation for pikes is that you need lots of friends in a deep formation. Four ranks armed with pikes scares nobody. Sixteen looks quite menacing. And if they know what they are doing would be formidable. I vote for all pikes to be double elements. Who is with me?
Also, and again forgive me if this is a well trodden path, why do spears get flank support and not blades, and why do bows only appreciate the work of solid blades? Is this some secret English late medieval fetish?
It is clear that among your twelve elements some elements are more equal than others...
