Re-reading the rules & posts re: TZs & I wondered about the following:
Say I have an element facing west which has an enemy element to its south, facing north that is exactly 1BW away. Is my element TZd by this enemy? I know that a TZ includes the far edge of the BW marker & if my element had been facing south with its front edge touching the enemy TZ far edge it would be TZd but the rule p11 says:
“An element or Group which is at least partly within or whose front edge enters an enemy TZ or touches its far edge”
which seems to say that its FRONT edge must be in, have entered or is touching the enemy TZ for it to be affected & in this case, none of the above apply so, is it affected or not?
Regards,
j

Regards, j Yes. The element is in the threat zone. There is a large thread discussing the rather strange language of the threat zone rule. A careful reading of the development history suggests that the threat zone rule was in flux to be somewhat different...but in the end was decided the current way. Unfortunately, the language which at one time was very clear wasn't restored. Instead we got the current rather odd wording. Joe Collins
