If you go to the bottom of page 7, you will get your answer of where a camp can be placed.

It has to be along the table edge (or waterway or beach), in good going, and within the deployment area, and in this case for camps, it will have to be at least 4BW from either side edge.

So no, the person cannot have their camp at a corner of the edge of the table.
