Hi,
My rear supported LH was hit front & flank. The front element was beaten so instead of recoil, it was destroyed (friction) but what happens to the supporting LH? My opponent pointed to fig 20b& said it should also be destroyed, but in this case the rear element ia Ax which "is not a type which receives rear support (and) is incidental and is not a factor in the combat resolution" so should I have lost the rear LH, is it recoiled or what?
Regards,
j

If it was hard flanked, then both elements are destroyed - see p12: Destroyed Elements. 'An element that has an enemy front edge in contact with its side or rear edge is destroyed by recoiling, being pushed back, fleeing, or being in a column whose front element is destroyed.' Last part of that sentence is what you're after here...

Regards, j The rear element is destroyed as well. Read the last sentence of "Destroyed Elements" on page 12. Joe Collins
